The annual State of the City Breakfast will be held on Thursday, February 16, from 7:30 am to 9:00 am at the River Lodge Conference Center.

Our featured speakers will be Mayor Tami Trent and City Manager Merritt Perry. Additional speakers to be announced!

Each ticket will admit one and will include a hot breakfast by C. C. Catering. You can purchase tickets online at fortunachamber.com/stateofthecity or at the Chamber office after January 16th.

How about some free waste disposal, Fortuna? Caltrans, Clean California, the City of Fortuna, and Recology invite Fortuna residents to claim one of 200 vouchers good for one free pickup truck or vehicle load of residential debris to be dropped off during business hours at the Recology Eel River Transfer Station in Fortuna.

Vouchers will be handed out on Tuesday, Jan. 3 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Rohner Park in Fortuna. If any vouchers remain after that, they can be picked up at Fortuna City Hall's front desk. The vouchers are first come, first served. One voucher is available per household, and they will be valid through Jan. 15.

We cannot accept hazardous waste, tires, commercial waste or business waste. The voucher is not valid for trailers or dump trucks. E-waste, landscape debris and appliances will be accepted until capacity is reached.

The Recology Eel River Transfer Station is located at 965 Riverwalk Drive in Fortuna.

We are sad to announce that our sister facility, the Monday Club, has been deemed unsafe following the earthquake due to an unstable chimney. River Lodge staff will be reaching out to those with immediate existing reservations. At this time, we do not have an estimate of when the facility will be open for use. We appreciate your patience and understanding. Stay safe 💚
