11 years ago our old Carousel sound man, Chester Ju, was involved in a domestic murder su***de. Was shocking to hear this tragedy happened to a friend of ours and one of our old crewmates. Very sad.

Police are investigating the deaths of a Natick couple. Chester Ju, 64, and Shirley Ju, 64, were both dead in a home on Winter Street.

So Tom Jones at the time was one of the biggest artists in the country and was coming to the Carousel for two sold out shows. There advance man arrived about a week before to go over some details and we all thought he was kidding. He told us we had to put up barbed wire and plywood around the backstage area, have the entire circular stage surrounded by security, and to cut a hole in the back of our production building so Tom could get straight to his trailer. He was serious.

We prepared for the show and that night it was the closest I've ever been to Beatlemania. The crowd was absolutely insane and at the end of the performance there was literally women's underwear all over the stage. And we still had one night to go....

I remember when Jimi pulled up to the Carousel in a big black limo. He climbed out with 2 ladies and a cloud of w**d smoke. He stumbled and almost fell down the stairs. The shows were sold out and there were so many people outside of the tent that the entire hill in back of the Carousel was covered with people. Eventually we gave up on security and just rolled up the tent flap so everybody could see. The next morning when we came to work there was all kinds of interesting items found out on that hill. Rock
