‼️ In Honor of the Theater’s Centennial, We Decided to Gift The Garden a Makeover ‼️
Introducing our new logo! ‼️❤️
We have spent many months perfecting this logo, and we are so glad to finally be sharing it with all of you.
As some of you may know, the lights in our iconic marquee were nonfunctional for quite some time. We worked hard to fix the issue, and on the night of the Annual Holiday Gala at The Garden, just a few months ago, the neon marquee was finally restored to its former glory, lighting up Main Street once again.
The response from the community to seeing the marquee light up Downtown Frankfort was absolutely electric. This experience helped us realize that the image people associate the most with The Garden Theater is our beautiful neon marquee. Thus, we wanted to create a logo directly inspired by this iconic sign, paying homage to the important place it holds in the heart of the community.
We hope you love the new logo, we know we do! The premier of this logo will help us kick off our summer season and commence our centennial celebrations.
As a reminder, we will be celebrating our 100th Birthday in style on August 16th with a roaring 20s themed party. More info to come on that soon!
Get excited to rep the new logo with some awesome new merchandise we have coming this summer! We can’t wait to see you wearing it!

The Garden Theater, located in downtown Frankfort Michigan, was built in 1923 and from all accounts has been in continuous operation since that time.
Prior to 2008, the building had fallen into great disrepair over the previous 20 years, including a failed steam boiler heating system allowing only for summer operation. In June of 2008 the Garden was purchased by a group of community members with the intent of renovating the building and giving life back to this northern Michigan treasure.
After a few bandages were applied during the summer months, the Garden Theater closed for extensive renovations in October 2008. Throughout the winter and spring an incredible transformation took place and on June 18, 2009 the Garden Theater re-opened with great fanfare.
A new state of the art heating and cooling system was added, the sound system updated to Dolby 5 channel digital, new theater seats from Irwin Seating in Grand Rapids were installed and the entire theater entrance area was restored to its original Art Deco brilliance.
The Renaissance of the Garden continues thanks to hundreds of volunteer hours, seat investors, and the incredible spirit of the local community! An army of volunteer painters tackled the incredible task of replicating the damaged Art Deco ceiling tiles. Special thanks to John Vinkemulder, Peggy Hawley, Mary Armstrong, and Lynn Petti for their leadership on the restoration project.
