First ever pressed flower class in the books!

Hattie was busy serving up aces at a volleyball tournament so Mama Lou Blooms took this on solo. Loved meeting this group and sharing pressed art with them. Be on the lookout for another class in April!

Seedling babies’ version of “tummy time.” 😂

When you start seeds indoors, they don’t get the luxury of wind. And a breeze is important—for one thing, it builds up their stem strength to handle the real deal when they get big enough to be outside flowers.

And if you were thinking, man, is every inch of their house filled with flower starts, the answer is yes, but the official word is JUST TEMPORARILY to keep us out of trouble with the rest of the fam. 🤪

Remember the grant we got from the Franklin Indiana Chamber of Commerce? This is it in action!

These are little baby yarrow, grown from seed. Yarrow helps improve the soil, benefits the plants that grow around it by repelling pest insects while attracting good ones, and grows back every year. Our mission with the grant is to add more perennials to the garden for all of these reasons and more!

We spend a lot of time during flower season collecting seeds from the blooms that aren’t suitable to sell. This is our 2024 cosmo seed collection!

It doesn’t look like that many until you see how little the seeds are individually. Like teeny tiny bananas!

The simplest tip to extending the vase life of your blooms? Change the water! Daily is best, but we go by sight…when it looks gross, time for new.

If you want to go a step further, trim the stems.

Baby snapdragons sprouted!

Took ‘em long enough. Last year, our snap seeds germinated in like 3 days. These made us wait, lose patience, and almost start over before we finally saw some tiny leaves. 🌱
