Right on cue, hydrangeas are in bloom! To adorn your home with these beauties follow these tips:
-cut early in the morning when temps are generally cooler
- to extra hydrate, place head down in warm water for 15 minutes.
- re-cut stems on angle and immediately arrange in warm water.
- if they wilt, you can often revive them by repeating the last two steps.
- stand back and enjoy! season

Ok, admittedly not my usual visual aesthetic, but saw these growing in a neighbor’s yard after the rain and was intrigued. After some research, I found they are called “witches eggs” a fungus (think mushroom) that is part of the “phallus impudicus” or stinkhorn mushroom family. Fungi are very diverse and amazing. If you are interested, I highly recommend a film called Fantastic Fungi. Fungi are fascinating!
