I found myself humming Oh, Oh Ophelia all weekend long, you know the one by the Lumineers. If your not familiar with the song it goes something like

“Heaven help a fool who falls in love”
BUT I say
“Heaven help a fool who doesn't fall in love”

Which I find pretty fitting for this adorable couple's wedding day.
Tropical storm Ophelia graced us with her appearance on Saturday but brought with her a wedding day I will remember forever. I witnessed the magic of family and friends joining together to create an event filled with an abundance love, joy and hidden underneath each umbrella were guests that had the biggest smiles on their faces ready to party in their rain boots and celebrate these two.

You know that quote “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery” that was totally made up by people before the social media era. If you haven’t heard the news some crazy person stole my photo and created another Blushing Blooms Florist instagram page. Who knows why people do these weird things, but I figured if they want to start stealing photos from my account I might as well give them some gorgeous ones to steal.

Do soulmates exist? They say when you find the person you want to spend the rest of your life with, you just know! After hearing love stories from couples, I believe that love at first sight is truly a real thing, and that fate will bring two people that are 832 miles apart together. So, YES, soulmates do exist, and once they find each other the outcome is pretty magical.

It should come as no surprise that I am obsessed when it comes to flowers. I admit it, I have a problem. But, I have an even bigger problem. That being, that I am equally obsessed with love stories. My new motto for 2021 is good things come to those who wait and
as soon as I opened the biggest box of the brightest, most cheerful sunflowers I had ever seen, I just knew this wedding was going to be filled with an abundance of love, laughter and smiles. Congratulations to this gorgeous couple!!!

Our Story

I am Jamie Butcher, the owner and creative madwoman of Blushing Blooms. A Professional floral event studio located in Fredericksburg, Va.

I am proud to be a professionally trained designer that has worked in the floral industry for over thirthteen years. I started my career as a floral apprentice, which is a fancy title that included some not so fancy work, like de-thorning dozens of roses and scrubbing flower buckets. I was thankful to get to shadow some talented designers that shared their knowledge with me, and I worked my way up to being the lead designer at a prominent florist in Virginia.

In 2012 I had my first daughter, Braelynn, and I decided to be a stay-at-home mom. I have always wanted to be a mother, and like every new mom I was completely enchanted and consumed by my rambunctious ladybug. But after about a year, I started to get the creative itch. I missed my flowers, but I missed my brides even more.

I started Blushing Blooms in 2013 as what was supposed to be a side business, but my passion reignited, and with over 50 weddings later here I am. I am now a proud wife, a mother of two beautiful daughters (Braelynn, 3 and Emma, 8 months), and a creative madwoman entrepreneur with an addiction to flowers!
