My Story
My journey in photography and videography started on the other side of the lens. I was a national recording artist with a hit song on the radio. Part of the artist life is shooting music videos and scheduled photoshoots.
I had always been curious about cameras and bringing images to life. Seeing it up close from some of the most respected photographers and directors in the country really sparked a drive to pursue my inner desire to also be a photographer.
It took some time but through a lot of training and practice I began learning how to shoot with a camera and make it look professional. It was all about time, practice, artistic skill, and equipment. I’ve always been an artistic talent. My early childhood dream was to be an artist for Disney and throughout middle school I spent most of my days sketching. So from sketching, to writing music, to photography; it’s all relatively the same approach for me.
The majority of my early work revolved around me finding ways to shoot myself for music purposes; promotional photo shoots & videos. I then began doing work for my 9 to 5 corporate job. Video jobs that involved on the job training and motivation. I learned a lot doing this. In 2016 I decided it was time to really start going after real clients. Back then I was shooting with a beginner to intermediate level camera. At the beginning of 2017 I finally upgraded my camera equipment to pro level to match my pro ability. I also began contributing to The Free Lance-Star in 2017 which was and is a great honor. The fact the newspaper saw my skill and would pay me to shoot really boosted my confidence. Being out there shooting real life events honed my skills even more. When you are shooting like that there is no room for error and no do-overs.
