It's with a heavy heart that we make the announcement that effective immediately. Pifer Bros BBQ Co. is closing and no longer taking orders. We have rented out our space to another catering company and they will eventually be purchasing all of our equipment. We want to thank all of our customers we have served over the last 10 years. Yes, it is sad that we are closing, but we are happy with all the memories we have. Matt & Michael Pifer

Small Business Rant/ Education:

National food supplier Brisket is $4.20/lb now let’s take a 10lb brisket that $42.00 for that 1 brisket. Now that brisket once it cooks you might get 5lbs of usable meat. Now that brisket costs $84.00. Now add your spices, propane, wood, labor we will just say that $16.00. Now that brisket cost me $100, I sell the cooked brisket for $20/lb now that 5lbs cooked brisket x’s $20.00 equals $100.00. Cost me $100, sold for $100.

Now second half of rant/education:
Got a letter in the mail from Spotsylvania County yesterday, they raised the meals tax from 4.5% to 6%. Virginia Sales tax is 5.3% for a total of 11.3% I’m supposed to collect from our customers.

Support Small Businesses, we are all struggling and do not have the resources like the chain restaurants do. Please do not complain about our prices, we have to raise them to just survive. We are cooking with our hearts, sweat and tears. Not sitting back counting profits.
