Hi there! It's me, Susan. I am actually still alive. It's been many, many months since I've been able to get to the studio and work. I know some have reached out and my most sincere apologies if I've missed getting back to you. Things happened last year that made almost everything fall apart. It was almost time for me to close the studio, but one day a couple of months ago, I got to the studio to pick something up and my heart knew. It knew this was where I needed to be. So many ideas, so many memories to help others have to cherish. If I didn't love what I do so much, I would have given up last year, but I have renewed hope and faith that I can help others. So, long story short, I'm back, getting stronger and excited about helping you create memories, not just photos. We will have a re-grand opening soon with specials to be had. Also, be on the lookout for mobile studio out and about for fun pop-up photo events.

Hi Everyone....Please be patient, it's a longer post. .I need to be real for a moment and say this past year has hit me with almost everything imaginable, but mostly some insane health issues. First off, I want to apologize for dropping the ball on a couple of you in regards to past sessions. Trust me when I say, no one is more upset about it than I am. There were moments when I wasn't sure we were going to see the next day so my priorities had to shift a little bit and some of you fell by the wayside. For that, I, truly, heartfeltly apologize. I will be, hopefully, catching up within the next week.

I honestly appreciate my clients more than words can express. Some of you know a little bit of what has happened, but most don't. I won't talk about the loss of friends and my family's health as it's not my story, but I can share a bit about mine. There were days that sitting up was a challenge, walking was near to impossible and other days when I was so weak, just walking across the room took me down for hours. The meds that were supposed to help, made everything so much worse. With all of that and the other stuff, I isolated myself and became quite depressed. Not being able to be at the studio, to shoot or to create was slowly killing me and my spirit. The door to the studio was hours away from being locked forever.

Finally, I found some good drs who didn't dismiss me and things are turning around. My health is slowly returning. I did an outdoor session for a client a week ago, and while it took me a day to recover, I made it. I shared a bit of what was going on and my dispair in regards to the studio. They said they understood, but it would be a great loss if I gave up. That little bit of support made a HUGE difference. The studio may currently look like the tornado from wizard of oz blew through, but Santa's cabin and all the fun to be had with him, will soon arise from the chaos.

No matter where I am, I will always create, but it was just a simple sentence from an amazing client that made me realize, I have to keep going. I don't do what I do just for me. I create magic for families and to see a child's face light up when they see Santa and the giggles you hear as they have a snowball fight with him is what breathes life into me. The portraits are just a way to capture those very treasured moments for a lifetime.

So, if you've stuck with reading my story all the way to here, please know, I AM HERE! I might have been knocked down multiple times, but I am up and fighting back. I'm far from perfect, will never be normal :-P, but love helping others experience the magic!

As I walked back into the studio for the first time since Christmas, it was very bittersweet. Santa's cabin was abandoned. Valentine's never had a chance. As ill as I got it was heartbreaking because I was unable to make magic for my clients and also pretty scary for myself. But today, as my strength has begun to come back, I took it slow. I fixed a few props, set up a couple of scenes and just took it in.
Being a photographer is about the love of making and capturing treasured moments for my clients, that last forever. We may spend an hour or so together during your session, but there is so much more that you don't see. There's planning your session, acquiring items to make your treasures even more custom, then editing, and finally printing. A lot more time goes into boutique photography than the cookie cutter stuff. Having to take this past couple of months to heal, made me almost give it all up. However, today, walking in to the studio, "my 2nd home", I knew I couldn't stop doing what I love. I know there have been bumps in the road, but I have so much more to show the world through my clients and I can't wait! Just please, still offer me your patience, as my strength is definitely not fully back yet.

Just an update. I got struck by the vir@$, 3 weeks ago. Spent about a week in the hospital. None of this is fun at all. I truly appreciate the patience of everyone. I'm starting to be able to function again in very short spurts. Please know I haven't forgotten about you and your photos, I'm doing what I can as I can. Pray for those who are suffering with this no matter how mild or severe. My boyfriend is still in the hospital because of it as well. You all mean the world to me. Thank you for the support. 💜

So I've been away from the studio for a couple of days while I'm editing and I popped in today to find the Mogwais playing with the plane! Hopefully they don't fly away before Christmas!

Well, while I was walking our clients out, apparently this little guy wanted to take over my job! He's probably even better than me! Just think of the fun we all could have. We just added another day for Santa sessions. You still have a chance to have some fun with Santa.

Santa walked into his cabin yesterday and caught the Mogwais causing a little mischief and they didn't like getting in trouble so they tied him up! Poor Santa! No worries though, I was there to free him so he could do photos with the kids and get back to work!
