The Historic Fries Theatre is a nonprofit cultural center dedicated to preserving and celebrating the unique heritage of Fries, Virginia. Housed in the town’s historic theatre building, it serves as both a gathering place and a living museum for the region’s deep traditions in old-time and bluegrass music as well as its proud mill town culture. The Theatre’s mission is to honor Fries’ role in the early history of country music, foster community pride, and provide a welcoming space where music, history, and local traditions come alive. Through weekly jam sessions, concerts, exhibits, and educational programs, The Historic Fries Theatre seeks to connect generations, inspire visitors, and ensure that the stories, sounds, and spirit of this Appalachian community continue to thrive.
