I have been a little absent with posting because I’ve been working behind the scenes on something that I’m so ecstatic about! As you all know, last week I had my Virtual Party that came with announcement! Well, here’s the Announcement!

For those of you that have followed Beyond Posh , know that I’ve done my Tip Tuesdays for years. I’ve met so many people and clients who say “ I just loooove your videos”, “You’re the lady that does the tips” or “Your personality sold me!”
So this year, my YES Year, I decided to Elevate Tip Tuesday’s to its own virtual segment. Every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month a new segment will premiere on Tik Tok and Instagram with clips on Facebook!

Someone said “there’s a lot of people doing similar content. “. One thing about it, my God given gift is my voice, My words. That’s one thing I’ll never come up short on. So when God allows you to use your gifts for positive it doesn’t matter if a million people are doing the same thing. So trust me, my Voice will be heard.

Wedding Bells and What The Hell is also a name I’ve had for years but never felt confident enough to use such a risky title. So again, in my YES Year, here it is.

Thank you to EVERYONE who has supported me and continue to push me past my limits!

Being a Black Wedding and Event Planner is one of my proudest accomplishments! Why? Because, not only am I considered a minority in every day life but also in the Wedding and Event Industry. Google the words “Wedding Planner” and you will see that Black Wedding Planners are not “the face” of this industry. Go visit a Non Black Owned Venue and you will find 0-1 Black Coordinators in a group of 6! Despite the disparities we continue to create safe spaces and tables for us to thrive!

Here’s a few things about myself and my own Black History as a Wedding Planner and Woman:

✨I am a Certified and Published Wedding and Event Planner

✨My little family is SO important to me and we have lived such a great life! We have had the distinct pleasure of living on the East Coast, West Coast , and the South which has allowed us to live, work, and learn in different communities. In those communities, oftentimes , WE were the diversity.

✨ I have planned weddings and events in all of the above places making me a Multi-Cultural Planner. Cali was my favorite Coast to plan in. Not diverse at all but So fun!

✨My experience is far beyond Weddings and Social Events. In California I Successfully planned Corporate Retreats, Production Events, Non Profit Events, and was contracted as a Talk Show Event Manager making my resumé very diverse.

✨I attended Old Dominion University where I had the culture shock of my life! 🤣 While ODU no longer considers itself a PWI it certainly was when I was there! In this space I learned the importance of learning and being amongst those different than me.

✨Just like being a Black Event Planner, I am also a black soccer mom. Since the day my kids stepped on the soccer field, they’ve always been the enigma. Like their momma, They have and will continue to dominate in a space that wasn’t created for them!

A post could never convey the Power behind me and mine. We are the best and finest 10%. We are Black History!

What are your thoughts? Let’s discuss.

Some of these speak for themselves but I’m going to touch on a few.

1️⃣I want to be very clear. In 2024 we are not DIY’ing these large weddings. It’s far too big of a project, too many daily tasks, and quite frankly a professional should always oversee a large project, especially one as intimate as a wedding!! Y’all be stressing yourselves out to the max when you don’t have to.

2️⃣Food styling is a thing! Looking for ways to incorporate your colors? Ask your caterer to get creative and brighten that buffet up a bit.

3️⃣Those basic boutonnières, chiiiiile I always forget them on the wedding day. They are just …so boring. Our girl did a beautiful floral sash for one of her grooms and it was alll that. Tap into something different for your groom.

4️⃣We are in the My man My Man My man era..then give your man the glow up he deserves on his wedding day. It’s his day too. Surprise him with a customized suit from ! Let him go get his whole life so he feels and looks amazing too! Thank me later 😉

5️⃣Please hire a Professional Officiant. I’m gonna just say it, y’all friends don’t know what they doing! 😆 Our clients and had the best idea! They had their family pastor as the Lead and then had a friend to Co-Officiate. 🎯Best of both worlds! 💯 is the officiant on our team!

6️⃣ Guest Entry Mocktails is a lit idea! This gives a double plus, it gives your guests an upscale experience AND allows them to have something tasty ( non alcoholic) as they wait.

We are truly thankful to God for blessing us with such acing clients and vendors this year! We are thankful for His grace and mercy as we meticulously planned, designed and executed the most amazing weddings and events.

I’m 2022, I prayed that God would send us our ideal clients and He did that! He not only sent us our ideal clients but send us lifelong relationships in those clients.

As a small business owner, one of the greatest gifts is a review. I never even sent her the link for the review, she went and found it herself. That’s how important it was for her to share her great experience!

This was not an easy wedding to pull off but we did it! 400 guests, last minute change from outdoor reception to indoor, last minute flip team, and multicultural vendor team!

It was hard but by far one of our best weddings to date!

I am a lover of love, sucker for love, hopeless romantic, and all of the idioms that exist. Above that, I love witnessing true love in all of its variations.

The background of this photo is stunning but what truly makes this photo beautiful is the adoring look you see between these 2. This look is not posed or created, this is the look we witnessed, constantly, the look that says “this is forever”.

Chinazo and Reed’s multi-cultural wedding was one to remember! They had the ultimate production with all of the feels. While I did not get to fully watch the ceremony, I did have the honor of seeing their First look and I was brought to tears. These two LOVE

Congratulations to One Belief Organization on a successful 6th Annual Back to School /Backpack Giveaway! I Each year Beyond Posh Events has happily served side and supported!
In addition to Beyond Posh , each year we have served as a family.

Teaching the kids the importance of giving with a grateful heart, remaining humble, and understanding that something as small as a pencil can change someone’s life , is important.

Remember that your wedding day is a once in a lifetime event. Everything matters and should be carefully thought out. Here’s a few tips to help.

With that said, stop leaving y’all mamas and daddies out the speeches. They deserve to be heard , even if it’s a little embarrassing or cringy 🥴🤣. It’s once in a lifetime for them too.

Momentous moments can be met in the middle. One of our bride’s mom was dead set on her daughter having John Legend’s All of Me at the wedding. The bride didn’t have a place for the song, so she surprised her mom, during their Room Reveal, theDJ played the song and they danced. It was a wonderful surprise.

Use your makeup trial wisely! You’re paying $85+ for it. Make it do what it do and use it for a special occasion. If you hate it, adjust it for the night and find another wedding MUA asap.

The best part about this photo is that this smile, this laugh, is genuine!! I don’t have to fake it till I make it. I am human so every day is not a good one but my highs very much outweigh my lows. At this big age, the lessons are still great but my blessings are MIGHTY ‼️
