This month YCA™ members are learning about Dining Etiquette. 🥣🍞🌽 Here are some mealtime manners every child should practice, especially at a special holiday gathering! 👇

• Don’t bring your cell phone to the table.
• Never blow on your food; if it is hot, wait for it to cool off.
• Wait until everyone has been served before you take a bite.
• Try at least one bite of everything on your plate.
• Compliment the chef if you like the food.
• If you dislike the food, keep your opinion to yourself.
• Keep your elbows off the table.
• Ask to be excused when you are finished and offer to clear your plate.

Who doesn’t love chocolate, especially on ! 🍫

Ever wonder why chocolate melts so easily? It’s because it is made from cocoa butter. Chocolate and butter melt between 86° F and 92° F. Since your body temperature is about 98° F, chocolate literally melts in your mouth!

Have you ever hallowed ... oh, we mean HOLLOWED out a pumpkin? 🎃😉

Those slimy seeds and stringy bits are a lot of work to clean out, but totally worth it. Both the seeds AND the strings are edible! You can clean, rinse, and dry the seeds then roast them in the oven with a little oil and salt at 325° F for 25 minutes. 😋

If you're feeling adventurous, sauté the stringy bits with olive oil and puree them with chickpeas, garlic, lemon, and spices to make hummus! 🤩
