Did you know that our logo was designed by Hopi-Tewa painter/sculptor Dan Namingha?
The logo was unveiled in 2003 and prominently features a swirl (sipapu), a symbol for the center of the Earth and the point of emergence into this world for Hopi people. The four colors surrounding the swirl represent the four cardinal directions in the Hopi tradition: yellow for North, red for South, blue for West, and white for East. This is a nod to the global appeal of the Market, attracting visitors from all directions.
Namingha's design beautifully encapsulates the welcoming spirit of the Santa Fe Indian Market. We are so proud to represent this logo— a symbol of unity, tradition, and Native artistry.
