Auditions for 5 female presenting performers for Swingtime Canteen, a rip-roaring canteen show set in 1944. Please come with 16-32 bars of a song from the period and be prepared to move. Auditions and/or callbacks may also involve cold readings from the script.

Join the Arts Center for ArtCafe, Exploring Landscapes on March 7, 6:00-8:00PM. Ages 21+
Working from photos, postcards, memory and imagination, students will create landscapes with oil/chalk pastels, layered paper or mixed media. Experimentation is encouraged. Students may create a series of smaller landscapes or one larger artwork.

ArtCafe is a relaxed evening of art for adults one Friday per month, 6-8PM.

Weather closure update February 20.

Town of Fuquay-Varina facilities are closed today, February 20. Please read the information below regarding closures:

➡ Closed today: all Town of Fuquay-Varina facilities, including the Arts Center, South Park Community Center, and Hilltop Needmore Town Park Community Center.

➡ All Arts Center and Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources classes, programs, and sports scheduled for today are cancelled.

➡ The Town is suspending utility cutoffs or late penalties for those due today until Monday at 8:00 am. Be sure to pay online or at the drop box (135 N Main Street) by 8:00 am on Monday, February 24.

➡ Thursday garbage customers should keep their carts curbside, and Friday customers should place their carts this evening, as usual. The sanitation crew will collect when conditions allow. If your garbage is not collected tomorrow, leave carts out to be collected on Saturday.

Our Streets crew and NC DOT are working to clear roads. Please help them out by staying off the roads and avoiding parking on the street.

Shana has a special talent for evoking the spirit of the artist she’s honoring while simultaneously weaving her captivating web of ChamberSoul, resulting in a unique experience that is at once reminiscent and refreshingly new. This concert features a full band led by musical director and pianist Christian Tamburr accompanying Shana on vocals and cello.

Please note the following weather-related schedule changes for Thursday, February 20:

All Town of Fuquay-Varina facilities, including the Arts Center, South Park Community Center, and Hilltop Needmore Town Park Community Center, will be closed until 12:00 pm.

All Arts Center and Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources classes, programs, and sports scheduled before 12:00 pm on Thursday are cancelled.

Thursday garbage customers should put their carts out as normal. The sanitation crew will collect it as soon as conditions allow. They may be on a later collection schedule. If crews are unable to complete Thursday routes, leave your cart at the curb to be collected on Friday.

Weather related schedule changes for February 19 at the Arts Center.

Due to the expected inclement weather, please note the following weather-related schedule changes for Wednesday, February 19:

All Town of Fuquay-Varina facilities, including the Arts Center, South Park Community Center, and Hilltop Needmore Town Park Community Center, will close at 12:00 pm.

All Arts Center and Recreation and Cultural Resources classes, programs, and sports scheduled for Wednesday are cancelled starting at 12:00 pm.

Recycling will run as scheduled. Place carts this evening; crews will be out early Wednesday morning.

Rockland Road is six musicians who share the last name Martin—representing four generations of musical heritage—all vocalists who are multi-instrumentalists. It is a powerhouse group featuring soulful vocals imbued with a pure, exuberant joy worthy of the talented blood that flows through this family’s veins.
The name, Rockland Road, is a street just outside Nashville. It’s a studio where countless hit records have been recorded. It’s a crossroads where country, gospel, pop, R&B and Americana music has coexisted and thrived for years. It is also a vocal-driven, melodic band with a signature sound as rich and authentic as its namesake.

Open Painting Studio with Sherry and Larry. Tuesdays, February 11 to March 11 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM.
This class is the place where you can express your artistic self in a variety of oils, watercolors, acrylics, pastels, drawing and mixed media. With two teachers you will get all kinds of personal attention even if you are unsure what you want to do or have no experience.

Every class will begin with a demonstration of one or more mediums. Students will practice the critique process. Both instructors are artists and will work with students every step of the way. Demonstrations will include painting in an impressionistic style, loose watercolor, layering composition, color figure drawing and much more.

Materials not provided, please bring your own.
