The City of Gadsden proudly presents “Christmas on the Coosa” – a magical, 25-day ice skating winter wonderland from November 29 through January 4! Yes, you read that right – this year we have REAL ICE! Our impressive 100x60 foot rink promises non-stop fun and excitement.
Join us at Christmas on the Coosa for festive fun before or after your skate! Cozy up in our rocking chairs, warm your hands by the fire, explore our delightful vendors, and indulge in hot drinks and tasty finger foods. Don’t forget to visit Frosty’s for a signature Christmas cocktail and sweet treats under the Alabama stars, there’s something for everyone!!

We're just over two months away from the Gadsden Fire Department's inaugural 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb event and walk.

This event will allow participants to symbolically climb the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center to honor the firefighters lost that day. A 3.43-mile walk with no stairs is available as an option.

The event also supports the GFD's annual Toys from Santa program.

The City of Gadsden is excited to present its first Strawberry Festival and Blue Jean Brunch Saturday, April 27, 2024. The festival is located on Riverside DR. near Moragne Park and kicks off at 9:00 a.m. You’ll find locally-grown strawberries from some of Alabama’s best, craft vendors, baked goods, live music, games and more. Bring your blankets and enjoy an old fashion picnic with food trucks, beer and strawberry mimosas! It’s a great way to celebrate the springtime and the right time to celebrate Sweet Grown Alabama.

Last year, we held a cleanup day and City employees got more than five tons of trash and litter off the streets.

We're doing it again this year on April 26, and we want your help!

If you'd like to organize your own neighborhood cleanup, we can help by giving you cleaning supplies. Also if you register by Friday, we'll be sure to have a t-shirt for you.
