We are EXTENDING THE DEADLINE for the 2025 Young Artist Award (YAA) to December 24, 2024. Hosted by the City of Gaithersburg in partnership with the Kentlands Community Foundation and coordinated by Gaithersburg Chorus Director Melodia Rinaldi, this juried competition invites young musicians, ages 12 to 18, to showcase their talent and passion in one of four categories: Voice, Piano, Strings (Bowed), and Brass/Woodwinds. The YAA highlights the artistic potential of young musicians through a juried selection process, culminating in an opportunity for top prize winners to perform at the YAA concert—a celebration of their dedication and accomplishments.

Join Music Director Melodia Rinaldi and collaborative pianist Guzal Isametdinova for an evening of musical and poetic exploration featuring music by Rollo Dilworth, B. E. Boykin, Alice Parker, Eric Whitacre, and more outstanding composers who contribute to musical excellence in American Choral Repertoire. The concert will conclude with a holiday sing-along that is great for all ages!
