Visit exhibition "Pull Up a Chair 2.0" at the Arts Barn! We invite you to sit in a chair and have a conversation about what the artist may have been feeling, and maybe to have their own conversations about mental health.

The exhibit was awarded a grant by the Maryland State Arts Council and is now on view at the Gaithersburg Arts Barn Gallery though Oct. 6.

“Pull up a Chair 2.0” curator and artist Sandra Davis said by inviting visitors to sit and have a conversation about the artist’s feelings, it’ll prompt visitors to have their own conversations about mental health.

TOMORROW AT THE ARTS BARN: The duo will perform music from their transformative debut album Nakshatra (SPINSTER 2023), a Sanskrit word evocative of constellations, stars, and interconnectedness. Expect dueling violins weaving intricate melodies, meditative passages to settle the heart, and adventurous improvisations culminating in a lush and spiritual collaboration that bridges traditions and defies genres.

September is Su***de Prevention Month... Our new exhibition "Pull Up A Chair 2.0" helps bring attention to mental health issues. You are invited to use the QR codes to listen to the artists, gently touch the work, and even have a seat and talk with your fellow visitors about mental health.
