Our Story

The legend continues.....

In the War of 1812 the town of Georgetown was under siege and British Troops were setting the town to flames. One woman, Catherine “Kitty” Knight stood defiant and prevented the burning of what became known as the Kitty Knight House. This Historic Inn and Tavern is now lovingly managed by Sueann Hall and a talented staff who are promoting the Kitty Knight as both a community gathering place and an epitome of the Eastern Shore visitor experience.

“The Kitty Knight House Its Heroine and Its History” Book by Jack Shagena & Henry Peden is available for sale at the Kitty Knight.
