We got the gallery back from our team photo shoot! If there is 1 thing that I've never taken lightly, it's the honor of being part of the village when it comes to our teenagers. As they go back to school, and to the ones who missed this day because they had already left for college, the parents and our community, THANK YOU!

Heyyyy!! Sorry so late with this BUT our August Artisan Fundraiser for Ledyard Soccer Club brought in $357.98 AND one of our customers (who insisted on remaining anonymous) topped in $100 bringing the total up to $457.98 raised!!!!!

"I didn't know"
I'm honored to announce that we won #1 Wedding Venue 2024 Best of the Best Readers' Choice Awards. The newspaper had a changeover of staff & we actually never got notified that we had made top 3 or even knew the winners banquet had taken place until afterwards. Things happen & we welcome our new rep as she gets settled into the area and her position.

You know I like to be transparent because it's one thing on social media to make it look like your always winning, but truth be told, since we won in 2023, almost immediately started a really rough year.

We had some unexpected changes & expenses occur, in an amount that could of crippled a little business but we took it on & made sure not to pass it off to the unexpecting consumer. Then we hired architects and worked with numerous officials all whom spent valuable time, only to have permit signature requests ignored by our former "acting" landlord. Then we went head to toe to protect our contracted events from disruptions. Everybody wants to be a "Boss" but sometimes that means taking on the pressure in a way that no one else under your care even knows there's a fight happening. During this, my grandmother went into the hospital. I had to divide my time because so many things were coming at me. She would never come home. Stay with me though, because this is not a poor me post. Where do you think I got my fight from! That woman was no joke. And neither am I. You squeeze me hard enough, you might mess around and get that good wine, that fine oil. It shocks me sometimes what people will do for a dollar. Such a flimsy resource, up one day and down the next. Time is our most precious commodity. So I decided I needed some. I got through the season and decided for the first time I would close down for the winter. I planned to rest, to greive finally. But the second I did, a lady and her daughter twisted something to suite their need for self inflicted drama and attention and started this crazy story on social media and launched an attack of fake reviews for like a week.. I happened to be taking a break from social media but of course as word got to me, I didn't get that time of rest. I had to be a temporty cup of water to quench someone elses dryness. I remember just being burnt out, desperately needing peace and thinking to myself, this is not worth it. First I had sacrificed time and now it's costing me my mental well being. If I didn't have a full calendar for 2024, I would of tapped out. But a rope came down into that pit from the most unlikely of places.... one of our kids started hitting me every morning with Bible verses...
"I will not be shaken"........
Who did she think she was being the teacher? When did this happen? Who gave her the authority to pull ME out of darkness? She sounded a lot like, a lot like ME!!! And the word of God came down and a new generation of power stepped in and I realized there had been a shift. And right then I knew I had won.

You see, while all these things were coming at me, i didn't know, you were all voting for us.
And while maybe we didn't get an invite to the banquet, I didn't know there was a room calling out our name and people were clapping for us.
Right now I've got two pregnant daughter in laws due at the same time.

And now I understand what Jesus meant when he found Mary crying at his grave and said.
"Woman, why wheepest thou?
I was trying to find a quiet place to cry at a tomb while He was busy blessing wombs. I was never going to get that time because I didn't know that Life was walking up behind me.

So maybe we didn't get a seat at the banquet this year, but sometimes you gotta lace those heels up and throw your own party. So as the #1 event venue, that's precisely what we did!
