As we all move thru this pandemic together, I realize event planners aren't needed right now and our future is uncertain...but I strongly encourage all of my clients to continue to support our event industry vendors in whatever capacity you can. Because, if you don't, they may not be here when we open back up fully. Please realize that most of the companies have either shut down completely or laid off 90% of their staff. They are doing absolutely everything possible to keep their doors open to hopefully rehire their team when this is done. So call your favorite caterer so you don't have to cook dinner, order flowers (just to brighten your day or someone else's), create theme nights at home and order specialty linens, decor and china to match the occasion, hire a singer to serenade your loved one from the front lawn, do a neighborhood tailgate party in the back of everyone's car/truck or driveways and hire entertainment (music, games, whatever), do a street rave dance party and have a lighting company trick out the houses with specialty lighting & hire a DJ, and when you feel comfortable, book that venue at 25% capacity for whatever reason you can think of. Get creative and do what you can to support these good people that have serviced you for years. And when we do come back from this, pay more than you should if you can, but definitely full price -don't haggle - don't put these stressed companies in a bidding war against each other. Realize they have months of debt they are trying to recover from. Tip excessively to everyone and be thankful that you have a talented team to continue to help you celebrate life's special occasions. The event industry was the first to be hit and will be the last to recover so please do what you can. And that is my PSA of the day - thank you.

3 cousins were able to celebrate their B'not Mitzvah together with a cute travel themed party at Hotel Zaza. With valet parkers dressed as airport ground control and flight attendants from J&D Entertainment greeting guests in the lobby, the guests "checked in" for their flight to party. An airport lounge was created for a quiet spot for the adults and various food stations from around the world were scattered throughout the ballroom. Guests could also try their hand in "flight training" with virtual reality flight simulators. Ellen Ramsey with Let It Fly Events did a great job on decor, Damon Pampolina kept the dancefloor full and Bright Star as always lit the party perfectly. Thank you to Mark Katz for the professional pictures

People often ask if a "backyard" party can be as amazing as hosting their event in a special venue...I definitely think so! This yard in Bellaire was transformed with a series of creative tent placement, flooring the pool for the dancefloor, adding a casino, LED girls to greet guests and amazing lighting. Thanks as always to my special vendors - Kevin Friddell with Bright Star Productions, Ray Rios with Aztec, Ellen Ramsey with Let It Fly Events and Monte Carlo Casino, Mike's Dance Floors and J&D Entertainment.

What an amazing wedding for this young couple! Scheduled over Memorial Day weekend at the newly opened Marriott Marquis in downtown Houston, they hosted over 500 guests for an Orthodox Kosher wedding. Despite the heat, humidity and wind, a fantastic time was had by all. And a special thanks to our incredible vendors to make the dreams of our clients a reality - Bahara Jamea with Plants n' Petals (superhero), Gregory Mabile with Marriott (extra A+), Rina Arazi Kamkhagi for an amazing dessert station, and Daniel K. K. Lim with Atelier du Papier for all of our on-site printed materials. And these great photographs were taken by StillSmith Collective www.stillsmith.com !

These 2 sweet and beautiful girls and their families have been lifelong friends and it's always a delight to work with families that have so much history and love intertwined. Without a theme except for using metallics and rose gold (plus their monogrammed logo), the whole weekend had a beautiful, elegant but youthful look. Again, our wonderful team of vendors helped pull all of the amazing details together. Luncheon centerpieces by Adrienne Wagenheim of Ideal Party Decorators with linens by Elyse Evans of Aztec. A special thanks to Marsha Gilbert at Beth Israel for all of her help with 2 Shabbat Dinners and the Kiddush Luncheon. Evening party decor by the always amazing Scott Konitzer of Blooming Gallery, graphics and photo wall by Ellen Ramsey of Let It Fly Events, lighting and A/V by Kevin Friddell of Bright Star, delicious food by Carolyn Bowen of A Fare Extraordinaire and entertainment by Victoria Barclay of Best Entertainers, DJ Haze from Dallas and Mir Mir. The Astorian and their staff did a wonderful job as well. It was so much fun working with these clients and I'm looking forward to the next opportunity to work with both families!

We had the best time working with this wonderful family! With a Coachella theme, we transformed ZaZa into a fun but elegant music festival styled party with boxwoods, "outdoor concert cabanas", working miniature ferris wheels and gorgeous florals. Incorporating ribbons, feathers and a few butterflies into the decor helped convey the relaxed feel of the party. Upon arrival, ladies were handed floral head wreaths and all guests had the customary concert band for entrance to the party. Specialty drinks such as the Bella Bellini and StrawBella Blue were passed and guests dined on a lavish cold seafood bar and passed hors d'oeuvres. Inside the ballroom a large white circular dancefloor anchored the space with lounge seating mixed with traditional tables throughout the space. Additional interactive food stations kept everyone mingling and sampling tasty treats while the dancefloor stayed full all night long. It was a great party and an amazing team of vendors helped pull this all together - Scott Konitzer with Blooming Gallery, Ellen Ramsey with Let It Fly Events, Kevin Friddell with Bright Star Productions, Victoria Barclay with Best Entertainers, Cory Baum with Maxed Out, Mia Chargois with Hotel ZaZa, and Daniel K. K. Lim with Atelier du Papier. Professional photography provided by Lang Thomas.

We had planned Ben's 2 older siblings parties at their home in Memorial and while Ben still wanted the same "feel", he certainly had his ideas on how to make his Bar Mitzvah party a little different. With a love of candy, basketball and fun carnival type games, we brought it all together after a Havdalah service to transition from day to night with carnival activities moving to an incredible performance from Acrodunk to a great dance party in the backyard. It has been a pleasure working with this amazing family and watching the kids grow over the years! Thanks to all of our vendors - Ray Rios with Aztec Party & Tents, Ellen Ramsey with Let It Fly Events, Kevin Friddell withBright Star Productions and Bradley David Entertainment plus Pappas Burger for the menu custom designed just for Ben. Special thank you to Ashley Wilkinson Patranella with Painted Peacock for the great photos.

This B'nai Mitzvah for a brother and sister was held immediately after the Havdalah service at Beth Israel. With a lot of drape, a little lighting and some fun furniture and graphics, the everyday social hall was transformed into a chic party space. With over 200 teens and 100 adults we created 2 distinct areas for each group - elegant seating with fabulous food from Cordua Catering while the teens had lounge furniture, personalized tables and food from their favorite spots - Chick Fil A and Dominos. Let It Fly provided décor, furniture and drape, Bright Star for lighting, Aztec for additional rentals, PRP kept the dance floor rocking (BTW - awesome dancefloor by Mike's Dance Floors), Best Entertainers provided additional activities and Mark Katz captured it all.

An amazing weekend of wedding celebrations with numerous home events and a grand finale for 600 at the Bayou City Event Center with gorgeous décor from Scott Konitzer with Blooming Gallery, spectacular lighting design from Kevin Friddell and Bright Star, delicious food and service orchestrated by Leila Zermeno and Tony's, everything paper (and there was a lot) by Atelier du Papier, DJ Yogi Goyal kept the dance floor going all night long and we finished with a special surprise appearance from T-pain for the after party. All was captured in these professional photographs by the very talented Adam Nyholt. And a special thank you to Kristin L. Blackmon-Massey and Jennifer McCullar from BCEC on being so accommodating and helpful for the intense 3 day setup.
