Joey plays a mixture of covers from rock, country, southern rock, the red dirt movement, outlaw country, h***y tonk and more. His originals reflect this wide array of influences and has been simply dubbed as "Rebel Rock". Joey's time playing in multiple genres has cultivated a sound that is unique to him. The same can be said of the other members of the Dry River Band which brings their own flare

to the Red Dirt/Texas Country Scene. Joey has had the opportunity to open for Granger Smith, Jason Boland, Moe Bandy, Bo Phillips, Bart Crow, JB & The Moonshine Band, Cowboy Troy and many many more! Sometimes a song is requested and you play it because everyone knows it and you don't really need the guitar for it. That's what happened in Haven at Gruntz with Friends in Low Places by Garth Brooks.

Had a fun night tonight opening for Bo Phillips Band at Central Station Bar & Grill. Thanks again to Albert and everyone for letting me play one of my favorite places in all the world. Here is H for the first time ever, singing lead to a song with the whole band. I'm thankful for Steve and Nate and Rick and Rob and everyone in the band that allow this opportunity for a 7 year old. Lots of dudes would be annoyed but they encourage him and give him advice non stop. I told him in a couple years he can take over lead singing duties and I'll be his backup lol. So I've been wanting to do this song for a long long time. Our other guitarist Rick and I worked on it one drunken night, but never got the chance to do it live. I threw it at Nate and Steve last weekend and they were all about it. I told them today, this is a hard song for me to sing (hence why I'm not playing guitar) not because of the vocals but because of the words. If you get the chance go listen to Reckless Kelly's original version of Wicked Twisted Road. Until then, enjoy our cover in Liberal today. :)
