My dad turned 91 today. Had lunch at his fav restaurant and a small celebration at his assisted living home.

It all started in 1991 at a little placed called Gardendale Al. Cassy and myself meet a couple at church, gardendale church of christ, and a friend ship was born. Its been 33 or so years and believe it or not we are still on speaking terms.

With that being said here is what happened this morning. I called Darrin Faris, and asked how everything went with the birth, Alicia and Kyles first, last evening. Darrin said everything went well and mother and child hope to come home today or tomorrow. He mentioned that if Kyles' orders go as planned then the couple will move to Clarksville Kentucky.

If you know Darrin, then you know he loves music. So i took the occasion to mention the song "Take the Last Train to Clarksville", and asked him if that was the place they were speaking of in the song. Darrin replied that he did not think the "Beatles" were thinking of, or speaking about that location. WELL, my mind started racing and before I could contain myself I blurted out that the Monkees' were the ones who recorded that song.

I have never and i mean never beat Darrin in song recognition or the likes thereof. THEN it hit me! Just like Dobby from Harry Potter who was under the spell of Malfoy his master. I had bested DARRIN. I felt just like Dobby who had been handed a dirty sock from Malfoy his Master. Im, free, Im free! Darrin no longer has me under his musical spell!!! I Dobby Green can now move on with my regular dull 1970's/80's reminiscing of the oldies!!!

Hopefully everyone knows by now that the tree lighting at the hallmark mansion has been moved to Thursday night due to the possible severe weather for tonight. I will see you at the Gardendale parade on Thursday night if you are able to make it. P.S. Im the one wearing the RED suit with the RED cap and WHITE beard!!

November 29th Hallmark Mansion Tree Lighting. Contact Warrior City Hall for Event time. 6pm tree lighting and spend time with Santa. (Meet and have pictures made with Santa)

December 1st Gardendale City Christmas parade and pictures with Santa afterwards. Parade starts 6pm

December 2nd Cullman City Christmas Parade, Tree Lighting and Pictures with Santa following tree lighting. 6pm-9pm

December 3rd Photographs with Santa by Karen Waters. Contact Karen Waters for a session time.
