ne lover; and foodie. Attorney’s Office in 2021 and moved up to one of the most beautiful locations in the West Coast: Gardnerville, Nevada. For most of you that have never heard of this beautiful location, I am just 20 minutes from South Lake Tahoe and have views surrounding me that are majestic. I now sit in my backyard in awe of my surroundings. Life is good! In 2016, knowing I’d be retiring young and in pursuit of doing only things that bring me happiness and fun. I began my focus on areas of life that I truly had a passion for. Traveling with my husband; friends; and family. So, I purchased my travel agency. I am now the owner and operator of: Premier Travel LLC, a Cruise Planners Franchise. Having a travel agency is the beginning of the next story for my life. I absolutely love working in the travel industry and it allows me so many great opportunities. In 2020-2022 through the pandemic, I began questioning everything. People were just not traveling. So, I looked to another of my passion’s “wine”. My entire life has revolved around wine in some fashion. My father taught me to truly appreciate it and allowed me to taste and learn through all my years at home. I have always included wine in some manner of our travels and loved the experiences and history that came with it. In 2020, I realized people were drinking more wine to maintain happiness through the pandemic, so I shifted my focus a bit. I spent the next three years waiting for travel to come back and became a certified wine expert. I took advantage of lock-up and learned another career. I am a wine consultant for a Napa Valley Winery and named my business Annie’s Wine World. Now, with my knowledge of wine and travel and the world coming back to a bit of norm: I have the good fortune to share these passions with everyone through wine travel. I love to experience the amazing wines throughout the world and sharing a bottle with friends right here in my backyard as I gaze at the beautiful views or wherever our travels may take us. There is such a connection to travel and events through the food we eat and the wines we drink. So, you wonder what does any of this have to do with Cheese & Charcuterie Boards and Valley Larder's Cafe? Those that know me…know I absolutely love to entertain guests. I took years of baking; decorating and chef classes in the 1990s; just because it was fun. I was fortunate to be living in an area of Pasadena, CA., where others also had foodie passions and love to cook, and bake like me. In 2017, our family went to Scotland on a vacation. The men were so excited to golf St. A few of us nongolfers spent the day in the rain indoors at what was the most amazing café; store; and restaurant I had ever come across in all my travels. I knew then that I need to share this experience with my community, and it would become my pursuit. Here we are today. Valley Larder LLC has been born; the are several different organizations under the Valley Larder LLC Umbrella. Just an FYI - I realize most do not use the name Larder much anymore. It means Cupboard. However, it is the perfect word for Cheese & Charcuterie as this is how our ancestors preserved their food. Just a little trivia info: Charcuterie means salami or cured meats. We here in USA, use cold cuts or deli meats. So, you’ll hear me just use the word “Board” as I create. The initial phase of Valley Larder opened a few years ago here in Carson Valley as a Cheese & Charcuterie Business. This business is still active today and all folks have the ability to order one of my fabulous boards on the www.valleylarder.com website. I offer delivery on Wednesday and Friday along with pick ups available at our Farmhouse Cafe in the Ranchos. I continue to bring all my locally sourced treats to my boards and share them with Carson Valley. The second umbrella of Valley Larder is Valley Larder Catering. Our Catering offers amazing options to those within a 50 mile radius of Gardnerville and from 10 - 120 people. Maybe a few less miles when it is snowing out. We have gotten better at driving in the snow. A few more years and we'll be experts lol! We offer just about any style of cooking Hot, Cold, Buffet, Seated with Delivery, Set Up, and Staffing (when needed) to each and every catering event we do. Please send Annie an email and let her know what you'd like and she'll send you a proposal. We have done 100s of catered events throughout the valley and offer a diverse amount of items. We specialize in our Grazing Table format, but can offer you just about whatever your event calls for. The third umbrella is Little Larder or Catering Concession Trailer aka Food Truck to most of you. Little Larder is a cute / wrapped trailer bringing delicious treats to our catered events and many of our amazing boards, salads and sandwiches from Cafe to local events. Check out our website and click on Little Larder to find out the her current location. The fourth is our Farmhouse Cafe. We are a locally shared kitchen (as much as physically possible) in the Ranchos that brought a few caterers together more out of need and the passion for the development of Valley Larder. We hope that someday in this valley to turn our little cafe into the larger cafe we came across in Scotland. For now, we are happy where we are and love our current home. When we began building the cafe...we came to the realization. oooh; the Ranchos needs good coffee; and then how about breakfast, lunch, fresh pastries and the best salads in the region. We opened our little cafe in June 2024 and someday we hope to turn the little cafe into what hopefully be a much larger locally sourced farm to table, cafe here in the Gardnerville Ranchos area. We love the Ranchos, with its majestic views of Job's Peak and some of the most amazing people I've ever met. Coming soon will be a winter of fresh homemade soups, chili, hot chocolate, lattes and all the warm treats we desperately needed in the area. Our cafe offers Alpen Sierra Coffee a locally sourced coffee here in the valley. Check out our online ordering and access to it on the LOCAL APP. Need your coffee made everyday at a certain time, just go to the APP or online and order. Live in the 89460, we have a local treat just for you. Soup for the week of 12/3 - 12/7/2024 to keep you warm at Valley Larder will be a delicious homemade Chicken Tortilla Soup. We will have our amazing Chili Beans as well with Corn Muffins. Our new Chef April has started and will be baking with me some absolutely delicious treats on Wednesday. Stay tuned for even more options in the pastry case than usual. We are hoping for Sticky Buns beginning Thursday.

For all you Jalapeno Cheddar Bagel lovers, I ordered a bunch more this week. You've got to try it with 1/2 Onion/Herb Spread and 1/2 Jalapeno Spread. OMG! This combo is amazing also on Asiago bagels.

We have Bread Bowls - nothing makes soup even more delicious than a warm garlic butter toasted Bread Bowl. We have also add Chicken Pot Pies to the menu and they are homemade at Cafe served with a green salad. We have warm biscuits and gravy cooking each day as well.

Pasta is coming soon. What's your favorite? We can start the weekend with a marvelous warm sauce and bowl of pasta and we will turn it into a sub sandwich too. Yum! Having an Italian Chef in the cafe is going to be so yummy and fun! You tell me what you love and we can make sure you all have your favorites.

Danny is whipping up some delicious holiday coffee treats for you all. We have Eggnog coming.

I know it is shopping season, but it is cold out there. Let's do a mental sustenance prep for the month each day. Nothing beats caffeine and warm food.

This week I'm making Creamy Ham, Bean & Tortellini Soup - It came highly recommended, so I am making it. Please come grab yourself some yummy soup with a slice of garlic bread or our Chili Beans with a slice of yummy Jalapeno Garlic Bread. Due to uncontrollable circumstances and/or pesky school schedules lol! Valley Larder's Farmhouse Cafe will be closed this Friday. We're adding back more and more menu items as we find local resources for many items.

This week's soup is Creamy Chicken Poblano & Black Bean Soup. So full of flavor, not hot spicy, just delicious.

We will offer our Soups and Chili Beans all winter long. Coming Soon are Bread Bowls to our Soup options. For now we serve with sliced baguette and Chili is served with Jalapeno Cornbread.

Lunch Special Tomorrow - Friday November 15, 2024 - Tomato Bisque Soup and Grilled Cheese on Sourdough. The perfect match. Tomorrow's high is 41 - I am making up the perfect warm to the bones combo!

Not a tomato / grilled cheese type of person. Don't worry we have Chili Beans and Jalapeno Cornbread.

Need a little sweet treat to accompany your warm lunch, we baked up Chocolate Ganache Cheesecake with a graham cracker crust and Pumpkin Classic Cheesecake with a walnut crust. Next week bringing Milky Way Bar Cheesecake.

Tomorrow is Friday - so breakfast is being served. Ham/Eggs; Chorizo Burritos, Custard French Toast and Breakfast Sandwiches.

Valley Larder's Farmhouse Cafe is starting a Grab-n-Go hot food tomorrow. I wanted to offer items I knew I could get that were your favorites and allow people a quick way to come in and get a hot burrito, sandwich or egg bite with coffee and get to work or back home during the colder months. As of tomorrow all items below will be available Tues-Sat at front, we will keep them warm for you. However, only available each day while supplies last, so please grab your favorite(s).

On Fridays and Saturdays when you all eat out much more often I have added classic items back to menu for sit down meals.

We are cooking each day and come up with fresh daily treats for all to enjoy, but want you to have fresh food not frozen.

89460 locals - check out our coffee deal just for you! This one was very important to me as I live here too and I can't begin my day without coffee. So please come and enjoy.

We have fresh pastries daily with homemade soups and chili and treats for all to enjoy (this week we've got two different cheesecakes). Soup for today is Creamy Chicken with Wild Rice. Tomorrow will be Tomato Bisque. Lunch items coming to daily Grab -n- Go next week. Working on sustainable items for winter. However, homemade soup with baguette and chili with cornbread are already being served at cafe. If there is something you love, let me know and I'll see what I can do about obtaining the ingredients.

Breakfast items available Fridays & Saturdays. We went through menu and found items we could make all year long regardless of weather. We know you all love your breakfasts, so the items below will be available to you all Fridays and Saturdays. We are working on a full Grab-n-Go menu of hot items (Breakfast Burritos) and Light items (Yogurt Parfaits). We hope to have ready for next week everyday.

Trying to now work on a couple sandwiches that we can do year round. Just need to go through ingredients and make sure all are a go for you all.

Winter months are hard to get locally fresh items. I am working on it.

Side note: I am working on making Sourdough Bread Bowls. I think they will be perfect for Soup & Chili this winter.
