Finalist are.....
Paula Mitchell,
Paula spent about Twenty years at the Cotile Volunteer Fire Department in Boyce, LA. She started as a First Responder then went to school for EMT Basic then on to Paramedic. Louisiana hurricanes and Paula’s drive for helping people spent many weeks away from home to support other communities disasters. When not on disaster scenes, Paula spent many hours on an ambulance saving lives and still taking care of local communities. I’ve heard many stories, some sad, some happy, and some just unbelievable. Emergency calls that turned from bad to worse and then some that went from bad to better.
One of best stories was about someone that supposed to have fallen out of a chair. When Paula gets there, the person is not breathing. She began CPR and was able to get a pulse back right when getting to the hospital. The hospital was told code blue. The ER staff and Dr. was shocked when they came in with breathing support only. The sad part is the ER Dr. Said I thought you were coming in code blue. Paula looked at the Dr and told him that God had a different plan. Other stories include CPR on babies and reviving them, Saving favorite animals for kids, and Working traumatic accidents. Paula doesn’t like to be praised for what she has done but I am so proud of her. She always puts herself last and puts others first. She is an amazing Wife, Mom and Foster Parent to kids that aren’t ours hoping to make a difference in just one. Paula is my heart and this nomination is the least I could do for her selfless actions. Thank you for this opportunity.

Colonel Don Vtipil,
Don is the founder of the R&DA Military Assistance Program, they have given away hundred of thousands of dollars to wounded veterans and veterans in need of assistance. 100 percent of funds go to vets, he works totally for free and pays out of pocket for expenses. He has helped so many people. I worked with him on many Concerts of Light, where we had Last H***y Tonk artists perform and we raised lots of money. He LOVES country music with his whole heart and soul and dresses up in his western jacket proudly at events. He has given so much to so many, and has his own issues from when he was in combat. He deserves some gratitude and recognition and a guitar would be amazing as he’s always wanted to play.
