I've cooked more this past week than I have in months for myself. I had a medical procedure and wanted to make sure I was doing all I could to ensure a speedy recovery, so I loaded up on fresh fruits and veggies along with proteins. Tonight I whipped up a quick dinner with sauteed trout and a deliciously addictive English cucumber salad with grape tomatoes, red onion, feta cheese and a herby lemon vinaigrette. I could eat this salad every day, it's so refreshing!! I've been in a lemon mood, lemon garlic green beans and lemon broccoli 2 nights in a row. Take steamed or sauteed broccoli and add a little olive oil, Italian seasoning, lemon zest and juice, omg it will liven that broccoli right on up, chef's 😙 I've made chicken Cesar salad, salmon with green beans, peach arugula chicken salad with a fantastic peach lemon vinaigrette, chicken breast with a mushroom cream sauce with cauliflower rice, petit filet with broccollini, turkey zucchini boats, salmon with sauteed mushrooms and spinach Cesar salad.

Rishi tea has done it again with blu-long.. They've combined a floral oolong, with lemongrass, lemon, citrus essential oil and butterfly pea flower for the beautiful purple hue. This tea is pretty and refreshing, it's delish hot and I can see it being phenomenal over ice on a hot summer day.

Picked the last tomatoes of the season to make dinner. I didn't want to cover up any of the delicious sweet flavors so I did a simple seasoning of salt, pepper, dill, crumbled feta and a drizzle of a good olive oil. I picked up some grey oyster mushrooms at the farmers market the other day. I've been craving pasta so I sauteed them in an olive oil butter combo add my pasta and built a sauce with garlic, herbs, red pepper flakes, a little white wine, a couple pats of butter and some pasta water, then I remembered I had some grilled shrimp I had put in the freezer a couple weeks ago, so I added those and voila a quick and delish lunch. This was so good, the mushrooms were so meaty and the grilled flavor of the shrimp worked so well together 10/10

Here's my last 3 market to table fare. I gathered green and wax beans, sharp cheddar and black raspberries from the market to make the green bean salad with crispy bacon, pickled red onion tossed in a honey vinaigrette. I picked up some fresh zucchini and made lemon zucchini muffins with lemon glaze. 2 weeks in a row I bought the sweetest fresh corn, week 1 I got real creative and made corn pasta, I cut the corn from the cob, sauteed it with garlic and sweet onion, boiled the cobbs to make a broth, blended the two together to make a sauce with some fresh grated Parm, tossed it with penne and topped it with crispy pancetta. For the second week of corn went with corn fritters with a charred candy sweet onion and herb cream cheese dip.

This meal right here was fantastic; so it's garlic lime shrimp and lightly smoked salmon on top of a bed of charred corn salsa cut fresh from the cob and a fresh smokey tomato salsa. 10/10 highly recommend, I would easily pay $55+ for this at a restaurant. All the flavors blended so well together; the smokey flavor of paprika and cumin, paired with the citrus brightness of the coriander worked so well in the salsa, the sweetness of the farmers market corn paired with the candy sweet onion and lime juice, the slightly smoked flavor of the salmon paired with garlic and lime and to top it all off the buttery garlic lime grilled shrimp. Simple quality ingredients executed to perfection makes a phenomenal meal. Bon appetit.

Changed up my plans and opted for a slow leisurely morning, had my coffee whilst checking out my garden progress; came inside and decided on what to eat for brunch. Farm to table fare. Last week I purchased asparagus and rhubarb from the farmers market. I made asparagus 2 ways; prosciutto wrapped topped with goat cheese and caprese asparagus. Strewed the rhubarb and made yogurt parfaits; cooked it down with some strawberries and made cream cheese stuffed strawberry rhubarb pinwheels and lastly rhubarb lemonade, everything was delicious!!!

I purchased Hakurei aka Tokyo turnips, zesty greens salad mix and fall harvest honey from the farmers market, here's what I made. I took turnip tops and the zesty greens blend and made a salad with quick pickled red onions, candied walnuts, honey crisp apples, feta cheese and a delicious apple thyme vinaigrette. I then created two dishes with the turnip bottoms, I cut half of the turnips into wedges, finely chopped a shallot and sauteed it in olive oil, added the turnips, fresh thyme, apple juice and seasonings let it cook down added honey and let it caramelize. Second dish was parmesan crusted turnips, turnip bottoms were peeled, cut in half and boiled until fork tender, drained and smashed on a baking sheet, topped with shredded Parmesan cheese, chives and a drizzle of olive oil, baked until golden. Go to a farmer's market and buy all the produce you know nothing about, research it, cook it, eat it, expand your palette, you will be pleasantly surprised what you like!! foodie out mic drop lol!! 🤣
