Happy wedding day to Erin yesterday! A white and Smokey / subtle purple mixed bridal bouquet with grasses, my white strawflower, garden roses, and a few white dahlias and zinnia that made it through the first frost a week or two ago now (they are no more after last evenings cold!) I can’t wait to see some photos ✨
I am officially on maternity leave - though you can’t tell in the photo here - baby Keitz is not here just yet! I’ll be checking emails and working with my 2025 brides during this time, but otherwise it’ll be quiet (well sort of lol) and the cozy time of year.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend! 😊

B’s Flowers business update! (Photo of my mom and I)

I’ve chosen to step away from my retail space in the old flower barn space and Vintage Roots and Cowboy Boots as I welcome my beautiful daughter into the world in a few short weeks.

After my daughter arrives and I near the end of maternity leave, I will return to working out of my home and the shop space on my property for the near future.

My website and business phone line will remain up and running for orders (after I return from maternity leave), and I will continue to book my very favorites, weddings and events. Appointments can be booked in advance to meet with me. Deliveries will still be going on, and my flower classes are intended to return for the spring of 2025 and on.

Having a brick and mortar space in the barn was a great learning experience, and I realized that I personally prefer to be working out in the gardens doing my flower farming or working my weddings. Also, I’ve gained so much more understanding and respect to the flower shops and retail stores that are running out there - it is not an easy thing to manage. So go out there and support the little guys and shops, they’ve worked hard to open and keep their place going. I want to thank Jenn and Vanessa at Vintage Roots and Cowboy Boots for allowing me to have this experience.

With that, I’m embracing the challenge, reworking my business plans, and following where it makes most sense for me and what my true and honest capacity is.

Thanks to my supporters and customers for coming along with me on my flower business journey, and I’ll keep all my folks in the loop 😃 I’m looking forward to what is coming for B’s Flowers and to spending time with my new baby girl.

We’ll keep on making the world a more beautiful and peaceful place with flowers.

Until next time,
Allie 🌸

Tucked into this arrangement I have some heirloom chrysanthemums - these are the orangey guys right below the Cosmo (maroon daisy) they are SUPER hardy and last a long time in the vase (like 2 weeks!). They come in really fun fall colors. I received the cuttings by mail in late spring and kind of neglected them😂 (they still survived !! ) if you have a small growing structure, mini hoop house, glass lady shed, this is a fun thing to grow because they bloom when all else is going to sleep for the season. I got these mum cuttings online from goose creek farms and 3 porch farm. Check it out! (Not sponsored lol )

Inside every business, there’s a driving force, where the real passion’s at, a person or people who put on the big show behind the scenes. Who is at the heart of the B’s Flowers operation? So here’s a little blurb about me.

I’m Allie, the owner of B’s Flowers LLC, a florist, a small scale flower farmer, a mother, wife, and former PA.

I grew up in Newfane, and I became a physician assistant in 2016. I practiced for about 7 years, and then I realized (and my husband realized) how unhappy I was. I wanted to do something with growing flowers because that’s what I loved doing. I loved being outside with nature, and I loved making arrangements where I could just be my creative self. With the support of my husband, I started my business, B’s Flowers, meaningfully named after my son, Brian. I am headed into year 3 of business, and I’m ecstatic about that.

I’m also about to have my second baby, a little girl! I’m already in love🥲

My favorite thing is seeing a happy bride with the flowers I designed in hand. The impact that flowers can have on a person…Sometimes it brings tears to his or her eyes, and then to mine of course.

I love using unique combinations of flowers and ingredients that you don’t usually see, and I always like to add a hint of something different to each piece that I do whether it’s for a wedding or for an everyday arrangement.

My arrangements give a “just picked from the garden” feel. They’re kind of messy and inspired by nature. Each piece is a work of art that I passionately put together, and it’s very meaningful for me to bring joy to others with the arrangements I create. This look and my prices aren’t for everyone out there though, and that’s why there’s always Tops and 1-800 Flowers. My customers truly appreciate what I’m able to create for them, and it’s never just a vase of carnations.

I love both growing and designing with flowers. Growing fresh flowers humbles me, excites me, surrounds me with nature and peace, and is a refreshing change of scene from constantly working on screens or being in an office without windows. I’m now rich with fulfillment and purpose; qualities I didn’t feel in my previous career.

My inner fire has been lit! 🔥 What lights you up?

Keep on keepin’ on! ✨

A fall bridal bouquet I’m so stoked about (the deep purple anemone with that blue in the center?! Wow-wee! And how it goes so well with the blue ageratum and peachy colors. ✨) I can’t wait to see photos! Then a few mixed arrangements from B’s Flowers to you guys out there. My customers have all been fantastic and allowed me to let the flower creativity and colors flow!

With regard to the farming aspect of my business, we’re prepping the hoop houses for next spring, more spring bulbs have been planted, and we are prepping the soil this week. Mother Nature is in control but I’m hoping for another great round of ranunculus and even more hopeful for anemone and pastel shades of Icelandic poppies (this season was a bust for those) as you guys know I’m very much pregnant, so physical labor gets thrown on the back burner. We’ve been blessed to have some help with the heavy lifting for spring preparation and closing the growing season out.

Keep on keepin on! ✨🌸
