You’re eligible for a free GCPL library card if you live, work, go to school, or own property in Gaston County. To register for a card: present your ID with a current address, or if the address is not current, bring in an additional piece of mail to provide your address. For more info, visit gastonlibrary.org and select “Library Card Information” under the “About the Library” tab.

Children can also get their very own library card!! 😍📖A child's registration (15 and under) requires a parent/legal guardian signature and ID. Visit any Gaston County Public Library branch today to get started!

We promise on scouts honor that your Scout will have a blast at our BSA Rail Camp October 14-16. There will be overnight camping at the museum, night activities, and a banner contest. The camp will include a train ride, flag ceremonies, workshops to help scouts earn their Railroading Merit Badge, and more. Scouts will learn how to identify different types of railcars, how diesel-electric locomotives work, the importance of railroad signals, everything needed to cover the badge. Do you have a child aged 6-18 years of age that’s a crafter, artist, baker, or just an all around entrepreneur? If so August 20th would be the perfect opportunity for them to showcase their skills here at !
On August 20th we will be hosting our first ever kids entrepreneur day! The kids will be able to set up their own booth for a $5 booth fee and sell their goods!
Let’s help get the kids in our community involved and motivated to reach their goals and potential 🤍

These two wonderful young ladies stopped by today to learn all about the shelter! They learned that the animals here are waiting for forever homes, and any family that is ready for a new pet should visit their local shelter🐾 These very compassionate young ladies even got to adopt a stuffed animal of their own💜 If you are interested in learning about the shelter, please email [email protected] to arrange a time to visit!

Want to get involved but still too young to volunteer?
▪️Help organize a food drive for pets! See if your teachers, camp counselors, or church leaders would be willing to help you set up a donation box.
▪️Make homemade treats! With just a few ingredients you can make healthy dog and cat biscuits.
▪️With a legal guardian over 18, children may accompany dogs on walks (or even cats in strollers)
▪️Help our animals get adopted! We love to decorate our lobby with artwork!
▪️Read to a pet waiting for a home. They would love to spend time with you!

Annual Kids Catfish Tournament Saturday, July 16th from 8am until 11am at Dallas Park.

F R E E event and no registration required. Parents will sign a waiver form upon arrival of the tournament.

Kalani's Italian Ice will be in attendance to help cool off on a hot day!

We will have limited fishing rods available to borrow during the event.

This is a great opportunity to introduce your kids to fishing, but all levels of experience are welcome.

Just a few days left until our 4th of July Celebration in Dallas! Plenty of food trucks, live music, and fireworks to end the evening festivities!

Image GTown will perform at Cloninger Park from 6p-9p with fireworks following.

Anyone requiring handicap parking MUST enter from S. Maple St. into the upper parking area at Cloninger Park by 4:00pm. Handicap placards must be displayed on all vehicles parked in this area.

As a reminder, the following are PROHIBITED at the event: Alcohol, fi****ms, fireworks, pets (the heat of the asphalt/blacktop is extremely dangerous to your animals), battery powered transportation (golf carts, hoverboards, etc.), and all other means of transportation (bicycles, skateboards, scooters, etc.).
