Graves Florist Changes Hands

It is a bitter sweet time for all of us at Graves Florist.
I can bet each and everyone of you can think of a special time or occasion, that you have had working close with Graves Florist over the 94 years that it has been here to serve you.
I only knew of Sally and Mat’s Mother and Grandmother (previous owners) from the stories and practices that have been passed down over the years.
I have had the pleasure of working with Sally and Mat for over 22 years. I know a lot of our customers have been around longer than that, and it is our customers that have made Graves Florist what it is today.
Mat has met each employee every morning for most of his 79 years. He was and still will be a constant and loyal person that takes care in delivering the flowers that the design staff has created.
Sally has taught me a lot over the years about the shop. From developing the flower count for holiday orders to designing an event.
The last two years have been very hard for me because there is no replacing Sally. I appreciated her bigger than life energy and even the headaches she would give me trying to keep her on track at times.
I have had the pleasure calling her my friend because she provided me with very special memories at work and away from the job.
She would include all of us in her family events so we got to meet some pretty special family members.
A legacy has been passed on to the new owners of Graves Florist and Gifts. And with the past history it can only get better because I know it will be in good hands and the staff will be here still to serve our community.
Hats off to Sally and Mat.
