Many people suggest first looks for your wedding! 🫶 These are great for saving time after your ceremony. With a first look you can do most of your couple photos and then all of your bridal party photos as well before you say "I do!".

After your ceremony you can take photos with your family and sunset photos. This frees up time to enjoy your reception and to mingle with your guests more.

Remember last weeks tip though - stay true to yourself. While first looks are very common, if you don't want to do it -don't! Your photographer can work around it and make it work. You can have a cocktail hour while you finish up your photos. 🩵

Here at the barn we offer a variety of items you can use for photos or decorations for your wedding. This gorgeous vintage pickup is used for photos mainly - couples are welcome to sit inside the cab or have the whole wedding party on the bed of the pick up! Other couples have used it as a place for their buffet others and still others use it merely as a decor item strategically placed on the property!

As you begin the planning process there will be a lot of areas you may want to be flexible on, if your budget does not allow for everything you want. Some brides find a venue they love and while they may want a Saturday wedding, they find out they can save a lot of money by having it on a Sunday or weekday instead. If you fall in love with a venue and it is not within your budget ask them if they may have cheaper packages on non traditional days.

We offer Sunday/Monday packages as well as two day weekday packages(ex. Tuesday/Wednesday or Wednesday/Thursday). We have had many couples book these non traditional days so they could have the venue they love at affordable costs to them. These other packages include everything couples receive on a Saturday.

So be flexible - talk with vendors and see if they can work within your budget! Sometimes vendors are happy to also be flexible and tailor their services to your budget.

Wedding planning - a fun, amazing, and exciting time in your life! ✨ However it can come with a lot of choices and information causing some brides to become overwhelmed with the experience.

A tip we have learned is "Be True to Yourself." Do you love the bouquet toss idea, but not the garter toss? Do one and not the other. Some couples have been having the families sit on opposite sides to be able to watch the face of their loved one. Just because tradition has told us to do things a certain way, does not mean you have to do things you will not enjoy.

The loft of our barn is perfect spot for your bouquet toss! Just don't get it caught in the chandelier. 😉

Outdoor weddings are gorgeous and very popular locations for weddings as they are often boasting of beautiful scenery, large spaces for big parties, and gorgeous natural lighting. However Mother Nature often has a mind of her own. 🌧 When you look at a venue for your BIG DAY take into consideration a backup plan in the event of bad weather.

Our spacious barn boasts of a large event space comfortably seating up to 350 people. We have an option to be able to accommodate all weather conditions, so we are only closed during January and February for weddings. 🫶
