Spring planting has begun! Presprouted ranunculus and anemones have been planted in crates in the greenhouse. They like to be around 45-50 degrees to really get their roots going. A creative and economical way to keep them at that temperature is christmas lights! They give off just enough heat to prevent them from freezing during our frigid February temperatures. We should see some growth in a couple weeks and blooms in May 🌸
Come check us and the many other fabulous makers at the Fall Makers Market downtown Genoa! Now, until 3pm today! See you soon!
A sneak peek of what you'll see at the flower stand this weekend! 😍💐

Cool season annuals are done for the year. Now is the time to save seeds for late winter/early spring sowing. When seed pods start to dry and crack open, the seeds are mature and can be collected. We do this for Larkspur, Feverfew, Orlaya, Poppies, Nigella, bupleurum and more. Not only is it cost effective, but by collecting seeds from strong plants that have grown in our climate and soil, we are perpetuating plants that thrive in our local area. This is just one way we strive for local sustainability. 🌎
