📣📣Due to the remarkable demand for blooms for upcoming special orders, events, and markets, I will no longer have 💐Bouquets of the Week💐 available in the Flower Cottage for the remainder of the season.

🌻I know many of you made a weekly stop to get your flower fix, and I greatly appreciate it! Please follow this page and our website for the events and markets where you can still get our fabulous blooms!

🎟Also, if you were a lucky winner of a bouquet voucher from the Genoa Public Library's Summer Reading program, you may redeem them at any market or event.

🏠Thank you for stopping out at the Flower Cottage this year! I have many plans for next year.

Time for another 💐Bouquet of the Week💐 !

🤷‍♀️What do you do when you've got big sunflowers? Pair them with all the other big blooms! This week's bouquet is full of large sunflowers, hydrangea, and Zinnias! Four year old for scale. 😆

💐If you've ever wondered what our $20 market bouquet looks like in a vase, this post is for you! These 8" and 10" vases have the same number of stems as our paper wrapped bouquets!

✂️Key tips for arranging are:
1. Separate your stems and group them into greenery, filler (the smaller ones), and focal (the big ones and tall spikey ones)

2. Place all greenery in first! It seems backward, but trust me. Trim all stems to fit the height of your vase. Arrangements look best when the flowers are 1 to 1.5 times the height of the vase.

3. Add the filler flowers, evenly distributing them around the vase. The greenery stems help hold things in place.

4. Last, add the large focal flowers and tall spike flowers in the gaps. The greenery and filler stems hold these in place.

Voila! Your very own arrangement!

Happy 💐Bouquet of the Week💐 Day!

I decided to go a little moody this week. After a summer full of fruity bright colors, I was feeling something a little richer. Pops of colorful zinnia and strawflower are contrasted with burgundy ninebark and penstemon seed heads with dark pink cosmos floating above. Some white zinnia and my favorite apricot lisianthus softens it just enough. *chefs kiss*

💐Thank you so much for coming out to DeKalb Farmers Market and supporting local flowers!

🗨One comment I have heard time and again at the market is just how long our flowers last (up to 2 weeks)! That is the locally grown difference and the highest compliment I can receive. If that doesn't convince you, try some for yourself. Our next 💐Bouquet of the Week💐 is released tomorrow!

As for me, I'll be in the field cutting more flowers! ✂️🌻🌼🌸

😬Oops! I'm late for the 💐 Bouquet of the Week💐. We played hooky yesterday and took the kids to a Brewers game. ⚾️🧢🍺 Even though they lost the game, we won with a fantastic time!

⛈️Due to the storms today, the Back Alley Market has been canceled. But have no fear! You can get your flower fix at our self-serve flower cottage!

💐After a week off, I'm super excited to get back to with fresh summery blooms, including long awaited Sunflowers! 🌻

Then you can find us this Saturday at the DeKalb Back Alley Market 🐈‍⬛️ with even more fresh blooms!

🐾And new at the markets are "Pet Safe" bouquets! Perfect for homes that love their fur babies and also love flowers. These bouquets are made with extra care to include only nontoxic varieties that won't harm your baby if they decide to take a little nibble. 😉 Look for the paw print sticker on our bouquet wraps!
