Thank you to all who have called the planning dept. office. If you do, please be direct, but not rude. The planner's statements regarding the objectionable size of the area, proves he has not fully researched this. There are 3 residences all together on the property, with a huge open field behind the collective buildings. There is plenty of room for parking 100 cars, and there has never been a single parking issue in 8 years. To my knowledge, Mr. Timboe has never been on the property. If he had, he would know that there is ample room for access by fire trucks, and emergency vehicles. Our event was targeted for shutdown, without any investigation. The most frustrating thing being, no explanation of what we actually do would be heard. Mr. Timboe said that the AG use only ordinance does not allow any use, unless it is specifically listed, as permissible in the ordinance. I went to the Code Enforcement office, at the direction of Mr. Timboe. I learned that somewhere back in time, (no one could tell me exactly when), there once was a "concert, festival" in Ge**er, that was attended by 2,000 people. (No, I don't know where they parked.) In the course of this said event, there was a r**e, and stabbing. Law enforcement had to be called, and shut it down. Therefore, no live music concerts, i.e., no "festivals" are allowed on property, even private property zoned AG use only. This is crazy ! For the last eight years, we have had a "festival", with live music. No camping, or over-night stays, no alcohol use, no parking issues, and no complaints. These were family events, where the worst thing that has happened was, someone one lost the water relay race, the watermelon eating contest, and the frozen t-shirt contest. Most recently, there was a stabbing at the Tehama District Fair on Saturday night. Amazingly, there has not been even the slightest suggestion that the annual fair should be shut down, due to the stabbing. Sunday activities continued on as if nothing happened the night before. In the coming months, I am going to pursue this. In the last eight years, we have worked to build the 12Ten. org brand, and present an annual Christian music festival of quality for the entire family, to benefit our region. I am going to obtain the specific zoned AG only use ordinance from the planning dept., obtain the specific complaint filed through the Code Enforcement office. Also, address the county Board of Supervisors, to see if our event can be allowed under a special category. This event, has been unique in our area. According to the Tehama County Code Enforcement office, there has never been a complaint filed in connection with any properties on Chard Ave., Ge**er. None. Zero. Never.
