Something happened today that may just interest some of you and your families. Santa reached out and asked if Springvale would allow him to setup shop and spend some time with our community. He said he could only handle about 100 families this first year as he is a super busy man. He threw out a couple ideas like offering hot cocoa, photography services to name a few. He also wants to know what you guys want from this experience? This will be a ticketed item to a time slot of your choice. If you guys show interest please let us know asap as Santa is asking.

The last year and a half has been a whirlwind for us. Just realizing we never officially shared who “us” is, we’d like to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves and share our journey thus far. The farm family currently taking care of Springvale is Trebor and Merica Taylor, Sutton and the introvert GSP Walter. We were fortunate enough to purchase this beautiful property in 2020 from the lovely Isherwood family who were the caretakers of Springvale for more than 50 years. This farm has been a staple of South Berkeley County spanning all the way back to 1805, housing prominent names such as Edwin Miller and David “Goldie” Miller. Looking through tax records it has been a working farm producing grains, meats and fruits for all of these years. Although the acreage has dwindled over the years the farm has shaped itself recently to produce a new kind of crop, memories. My first memory here was as a child swimming in the pool. The Isherwood’s were always open to Sharing the property with the community. Times were different on Goldmiller then. Fast forward to October 2011, Merica and I shared our special day and we were lucky enough to have our wedding photos done here at Springvale. Here today, the farm has changed a lot over the years but, the solid foundation is still present. We have survived war, drought, tornados and about 30 weddings at this point. One thing that hasn’t changed and won’t is our love for this community that we call home. We will continue in the tradition of sharing Springvale and look forward to you making memories with us.

It’s just a structure during the week but, on Friday a buzz begins around the farm with small bits of laughter from kids playing on the swing. A touch of excitement from the bride and her party and maybe a sense of nervousness from the groom. Friday night is one of our favorite times here. After rehearsal and setup we go and close the barn for the night. There is a beauty to the quietness with the fully decorated barn as the lights dim and eventually go out. Tomorrow is your big day. Saturday morning starts early as the farm turns into a movie set. It’s a full production with hair and makeup, sound, video and photography. As the grounds are getting their final going over guests begin to show. It’s at this time you realize your life is about to change in a major way. This is the moment we strive to have your focus solely on your future. Our family has done everything in our power to provide you with the best venue experience that we can give. Your new story starts here and we’re just happy you chose us to be in chapter one, now go write the rest of the story.
