Psalm 34:18. The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

It has taken us a few days to regain our footing, composure and strength. We come to you today with the news that we have lost one of the kindest, funniest and most genuine souls that we have ever had the privilege of knowing and loving. On Tuesday July 4th, Jared Maddox was taken from us while he was doing what he loved with those that he enjoyed working with. We feel your prayers. We know that our community is in tune with our pain. We appreciate everyone that has called, texted and just showed up. Our lives are forever changed and for that, we are heartbroken but our Lord tells us to rest on him. Lean into our faith. Our time is not our own and we do not know his plans. We invite each of you to come. Come and pray. Come and sit. Come and be. Each of us grieves differently and in that, we can honestly say, thank you. Thank you for loving Jared. Thank you for loving and praying for us through this horrible and tragic time. The visitation will be Friday 6-8 at Croley Funeral Home and the services at First Baptist Gilmer at 10:00 am Saturday. Jared will come home to be buried at Glade Creek. Again, thank you. For everything.
