Hey Campers! Are you into wine?

We mean, really into wine?

Here’s your chance to learn about the grape growing and winemaking process at Fernwood Cellars via a fun and educational experience - Wine Camp!

On October 24th we will be hosting 2 different wine camp tours to take everyone through our vineyards to discuss grape growing, pruning techniques, knowing when to harvest, and other insider nerdy farmer tips from our winemaker Matt Oetinger. From the vineyard, we’ll then venture to the outside of the winery and discuss winemaking techniques, observe some of our machinery and talk shop about what goes into making your favorite Fernwood Cellars’ wine! After the tour we will be seated outside, socially distanced, to enjoy a 4-course tapas paired tasting, which will feature an exclusive chance to taste our 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon next to our 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon and discuss the differences between the two.

This is a unique opportunity to understand what makes us, us. All of this will be hosted by Winemaker and Owners Matt and Tiffany Oetinger (Our wine camp counselors for the day)

This will be safe, intimate, educational, and unlike any other experiences previously held at the winery. Each session will only have 24 campers to ensure social distancing and safety protocols can be achieved.

2020 PINOT FUTURE

Introducing the first Pinot Noir available to the public!

We only make wine from grapes we grow. Every bottle of Fernwood Cellars wine, from pruning to pouring, has been under our complete care. With that said, occasionally an opportunity comes along to work with some incredibly high end fruit, which we did not grow. Historically this has only happened a handful of times and we have released these, very small production wines, under our FOF (Friends of Fernwood) label.

We have been approached with an amazing opportunity to work with 1-ton of Pinot Noir fruit from a *very* famous vineyard, which we are not permitted to name, although we can tell you it is from the Santa Lucia Highlands.

We have worked with this fruit once before, and it turns out some amazing wines! Wines from this vineyard generally are priced anywhere from $90-$120/bottle.

Since this production run is so small and perhaps never will happen again, we will release it in the same program as before. This wine will be sold only by the case and only by futures. This means you purchase it now, we make the wine and deliver to you in Sept 2021.
