Tomorrow, Saturday, April 5th is Gold Star Spouses Day. April 5th honors the surviving loved ones of military service members who died while serving their country.

The day offers remembrance for the spouses and their families and a time of recognition of their sacrifices. The loss of our service members extends beyond the battlefield and their service to their country. They leave behind grieving wives and husbands who become members of an exclusive community no one asks to join. Our support, understanding, and respect are the least we can provide in return as a nation.

On a side note, this is my personal photo of me & my boys receiving a folded flag at my late husband's funeral. We are only 1 person away from knowing someone in the military or someone who lost someone while serving in the military.
Point being, we need to remember to be kind to everyone we meet, because we never know what anyone has gone through or is going through or what we are all doing to help better our community.

In case you don't follow the GPD, our backyard shed was hit by thieves. Hopefully someone recognizes them or has information💔

🚨 Gilroy, can you help us identify some theft suspects?

On April 1, 2025 just after 3:15 am, two men were captured on video surveillance breaking into a tool shed located at the Veterans Hall at 74 W. Sixth Street. The men stole approximately $1,000 worth of power tools and gardening equipment. The suspects were seen entering a blue minivan that was driving in the area at the time of the incident.

One suspect, captured here, was described as a Hispanic adult man wearing a blue hooded sweater, gray sweatpants, and a green patterned beanie. We were not able to obtain a clear description of the second suspect at this time, though he is seen in the background of this photo with a yellow bandana covering his face.

If anyone has any information regarding this case please contact Officer Carrillo at (408) 846-0350. Gilroy PD Case # 25-1391
