A client reached out to me, asked me for my prices and then said no thanks...why? 🤷🏽♀️ There may be several factors for why a client may choose to go in another direction for a service that you offer. 1️⃣ Maybe you were out of their budget. 2️⃣ Maybe they connected with someone else. 3️⃣ Maybe they decided they could do without the service. Who knows? You could ask them why they didn't choose you or you can just prepare for your next yes! There are several factors that causes a potential client to book with you. But it really boils down to: KNOW ~ LIKE ~ TRUST Know, like and trust is the best way to build client relationships, client list and even repeat service. Take a look at the story of me and one of my fav MUAs @pjs_makeup on IG. 1️⃣ KNOW I met "Prince J" a few years ago at a photoshoot. He was just starting freelance makeup. Back then, I tipped him a little something something for his work. But I'll be darned if I paid him over $200 to #beatmyface! 2️⃣ LIKE Well, we ran into each other at more and more events. He showed up and each time he did my face and he had a great personality. He would teach me a few tips and tricks to help me with my makeup routine at home. 3️⃣ TRUST As we crossed paths at more and more events, I would wait in line to make sure he did my makeup. I would even tell other people how wonderful his work is. He has definitely built a name for himself in the MUA circle and I would pay him $200 + to "beat my face" any day! I know his value because he built that know~like~ trust factor. Now it may not take several years to do so, but it is something that you have to do on a regular to gain momentum in your business.
