We recently hosted one of the most epic 90th surprise birthday parties at Bartizan. Bernice's granddaughter spearheaded the planning of her milestone celebration, and we were able to whip this event together in just two short weeks. Swiping through the photos, it's impossible not to notice all of the details from the aerialists, performers, magicians, and the decor, but when going through these images, what sticks out to us most is the JOY from the guests and birthday girl. Being in the business of celebrating your life's most memorable moments gives us so much JOY! 🎂 🎉

This past Tuesday, the DHE team volunteered together picking up trash to support the mission of the James River Park by cleaning up Pony Pasture Park after a celebratory Memorial Day weekend! 🇺🇸 The bags you see were only half of what we eventually picked up. This load was mostly bottles, cans, and, for some reason, diapers. We're so blessed to have the beautiful James River in our backyard. Let's work as a community to protect, expand, and enhance the JRPS! 🌳 We then finished the day with some 7 Lady Vineyards wine education. Thank you to our friends at Kindred Spirit Brewing Satellite for letting us crash your space.

The Friends of the James River Park is the largest nonprofit support group for the James River Park System. As citizen stewards, the Friends fundraise, plan projects, provide staffing support, purchase new equipment, and lead much of the conservation work being done in the Park. They are a passionate group of people working to make the James River Park System the best place it can be. You can learn more about their work by visiting jamesriverpark.org.
