Fact fact: The bride (Abbey) & I are cousins! We grew up super close, basically like sisters.
When I found out I would be coordinating her wedding, not only was I excited (because look how beautiful, right?) but I knew I was going to be working for a couple who’s relationship inspired me. A & C truly compliment one another in every way.

ring things 💍
did you know that you can give your ring a free glow up my dropping it into a small dish of hot water & dish soap? gently scrub it for a few seconds with a small brush or your fingers, then take it out & carefully dry with a tissue or paper towel! your ring will be sparkling!!!
ps. yes i realize there are two different sets of earrings in these pics! brought so many gorgeous accessories, it was impossible to decide!

a moment for the details ✨
whenever i build a wedding day timeline, i like to add in 15-20 minutes for your photographer to play with your wedding “details” & get some of these photos of the little things!
here are some ideas of what you can use in your details photos:
+ your invitation suite
+ save the date
+ perfume bottles (my husband & i made a date out of shopping for our wedding day scents! we picked a special smell for each other & now only wear them on special occasions!)
+ rings
+ ring box
+ scrap ribbon or fabric
+ fruit
+ your bridal bouquet
+ boutonnières
+ wedding favors
+ place cards
+ accessories such as your shoes, jewelry, veil
+ your “something blue”
+ small photos of past loved ones
+ leftover flowers from your florist
+ wax seals (these were custom made by along with the entire suite, but you can buy some on etsy too!)

i’m not a florist, but here’s something to keep in mind when choosing your wedding florals…
you’ve probably heard me mention how much i adore dahlias. well, i had fully planned on having dozens of beautiful orange dahlias in my early june wedding… until i found out that dahlia season was later on in the summer.
my amazing florists were still able to pull off my dreamy, sunset vision & managed to find a few white dahlias here & there! 🥹 but sourcing the flowers was something i hadn’t thought of.
remember friends, flowers are seasonal! that means that certain types of flowers are more accessible depending on the time of year it is.
if you’re not sure what flowers will be available, ask your florist! 🌼

sometimes people inquire about my services & then ghost me when they see my pricing. 😅 here’s the thing. once you stop seeing day-of coordination as an EXPENSE but instead, as an INVESTMENT in PROTECTING the day you’ve put so much time, effort, planning, & money into, you’ll start to see why it’s always worth it.
i have yet to meet somebody who regrets hiring an awesome day-of coordinator for their wedding, just sayin’. 😉

hey! it’s me & my bestie! june 3 was kinda the best ever. 😉

it blows my mind that there are people who trust me to make sure their wedding day goes smoothly. it’s a lot of pressure.
but can i be honest? i LOVE it. i love being there for my couples. i love answering their questions & giving them advice. i love knowing that i’m going to fix the problems they’re worried about.
i know that i don’t have years of experience like many of the planners & coordinators i follow & learn from daily, but you know what i do have? confidence, honesty, enthusiasm, persistence, & a big cheesy smile, lol.

5 tips to narrow down your wedding vision ✨
one of the hardest things about wedding planning is taking your hundreds of pinterest wedding pins and refining them into one cohesive wedding theme. if you’re engaged & starting to think about the details, here are some tips to help make the process a little less overwhelming:
1. think about how you want your wedding day to look & feel. — write down a few words to describe this. for example, my husband & i wanted the vibe of our wedding day to be relaxed, warm, & fun.
2. think about whether there are certain colors, patterns, items, places, etc. that make you feel the way you described above. — we went with warm colors like orange & yellow, lots of texture, and had our ceremony outside because that’s where we felt the most relaxed.
3. make a list of your top wedding priorities. — these are your non-negotiables. it could be a guest count, a certain type of vendor you want to have at your wedding, etc. focus on getting these done first.
4. consider your budget. — most of your pins on pinterest are *not* budget-friendly!!! this is one of the hardest reality checks you’ll have while planning your wedding. don’t let that stop you from getting creative.
5. when making any decision for your wedding, always ask yourself if this is really YOU & what you love, or whether you’re just trying to match an aesthetic. — for me, it was fully embracing my love for bright & bold colors instead of going the neutrals that were trending at the time. stay true to you!

one of the coolest parts of being a wedding planner/coordinator is hearing about a couple’s vision for their wedding & then seeing it all come together on the actual day after months of planning & preparation.
when bride jessie & i first started chatting about her late fall wedding, she told me her theme was “embracing the fall season” with oranges & peach tones, but she also had some sage & navy blue accents as well. seeing it all set up on the morning of her wedding was so breath-taking! i loved being a small part of bringing her vision to life.

hi all! merry late christmas! this year christmas looked a little different for me — normally i’d be with my crazy loud extended family in canada, but this year i spent a quiet & cozy christmas with my husband in our little apartment here in glens falls. it was so special to spend our first christmas together as husband & wife!
i’ve been seeing so many christmas engagements this winter & i’m already getting so excited thinking about all the couples who i’ll have the joy of working with in this upcoming year. (if you’re still looking for a fabulous wedding planner/coordinator, don’t be shy to hit ya girl up!)

dahlias are my favourite.
one of my loveliest memories from this wedding was meeting .logue & 🧡
they brought the flowers for & were running the truck for most of the night. they were so kind when they heard i was just starting out in my business & encouraged me so much.
when i told them i just LOVED dahlias they told me to fill an entire bucket with leftover blooms to take home after the wedding & that made me so happy!
it’s such a joy to be doing what i’m doing & i’m so excited for all of next year’s weddings!!

a few reasons why you should seriously consider hiring a wedding coordinator:
you might be the most organized, detailed-oriented, & efficient bride in the world & have the planning completely managed, but when it comes down the actual day of your wedding — it’s impossible to both be a part of AND run your wedding day. things like errands, cues, trouble-shooting, etc. are not things you will be or want to be doing in your wedding dress, lol. your coordinator is there for this specific purpose — to coordinate!
a wedding coordinator transitions in during your final stretch of wedding planning to help you tie up loose ends & remind you of any details you may have missed. they will take on the bulk of the remaining wedding planning like logistics & communication, leaving you to relax & enjoy your final weeks before the big day.
one of my biggest regrets from my own wedding was not hiring a professional wedding coordinator. i was a type a wedding planner who thought that if i planned everything to perfection nothing would go wrong. but things did go wrong (which is fine!) and a lot of those things might’ve been prevented if i had a good coordinator to look out for those little details.
if you’re on the fence about whether or not you need a wedding day-of coordinator, please take this post to heart!! you seriously will not regret having someone there who’s sole job is to make sure your day runs smoothly & stress-free. 🧡

2023 & 2024 brides, here’s a quick tip for choosing your perfect wedding venue: try to find a place that’s naturally beautiful so you won’t need to decorate! this will save you so much time & money on your wedding day.
the beautiful stained glass windows & detailed architecture of this tiny church in the catskill mountains was the most stunning ceremony location for jessie & khurram’s sunny october wedding. they kept their ceremony short & sweet, and personal to themselves. it made me emotional seeing the love & support they had from their friends & family!

i’m 23 years old but turning 24 in february! i’m a canadian citizen born & raised, but my parents are from the beautiful island of sri lanka & i’m so proud of that heritage. currently, i’m a full-time business student. khc is a passion turned side hustle that i dream of turning into a full blown business one day. i firmly believe that the best way to avoid/solve conflict is to treat all people with kindness. i’m extroverted & can be a bit of a chatterbox; some words i would use to describe myself are passionate, genuine, & vivacious! my best friend in the whole world is my cute husband, michael, who i married just 6 months ago & if you hire me for your wedding, you’ll most likely be seeing him around too! we live in a little apartment here in south glens falls but will travel literally anywhere to help with your wedding!

what kind of wedding coordinator would I be if I didn’t dedicate an entire post to this breath-taking bride?
sweet jessie reached out to me when I first launched katie hawkins co. her wedding was about a month away & she (an experienced wedding vendor) decided to put her complete faith & trust in me (a total rookie lol) to coordinate her entire wedding day.
let me tell you what — she made my job ridiculously easy! she was so organized & on top of everything. it was such a pleasure to work with her. her wonderful family, her encouragement to me as a new vendor in the wedding industry, & the way she singlehandedly opened up so many doors for me in terms of vendor relationships are just a few of the reasons why she was truly a gem!
i could go on about this for days, but the point is — jessie’s the best & i’m so thrilled i could be there for her & khurram on her wedding day!

wedding tablescape must-haves & tips for working within your budget to create the reception of your dreams:
> white linen table runners bought on aliexpress for less than $5 a piece & sold to a vendor after my wedding for $10 a piece!! you can also buy cloth in bulk & cut these to your perfect length.
> i thrifted every cylinder vase & votive on the tables & sold them to other brides after (these will NEVER go out of style & it’s a great way to get some money back)
> some things are worth renting — cloth napkins, plates, & silverware. try to find a caterer that will take care of this for you!
> goblets & chargers are in my opinion not a necessity but can absolutely elevate the look of your reception tables. if you want a pop of color or a way to make your table feel a little less simple, i would opt for one of these!
> controversial opinion, but i loved our wedding favours. everybody took them home & it was something personal to my husband & i because we love to cook! i bought the jars on amazon & the spices in bulk! it’s just a bit of work putting them together.
> things you can totally skip to save some money: place cards (our favors doubled as place cards), printed menus (we put ours on our website), fancy/aesthetic cutlery (pretty but nobody really cares lol), table runners & chargers.

pro tip for your wedding timeline: schedule that golden hour session!!
>>> i googled “what time did the sun set on june 3, 2021” to get a estimated time for when this would be. then, i put a tentative time slot for it in my timeline but left it to my photo/video team to grab us when it was the best time. a wedding coordinator is great to help with this!
we captured my absolute FAVORITE wedding photos in the span of 10 minutes, not to mention it was an incredible moment to share with my new husband knowing that we were finally going to be together forever. so surreal.
of course, it’s not guaranteed that every sunset session will turn out like this one, but it’s still a great way to get some variety photos & a chance to breathe from the craziness of your wedding. trust me, you will NOT regret it.

wedding planning is hard. it isn’t all rose petals and white dresses. there are so many obstacles that can turn your season of preparation for this new chapter of life into a super anxious time.
> maybe it’s that your wedding budget isn’t as big as you wish it was to make your pinterest dreams a reality.
> maybe you’re having a hard time deciding who to put in your bridal party.
> maybe you’re feeling really indecisive and want to reset all your plans every other month.
> maybe you recently lost a loved one or found out that a special person in your life won’t be present on your special day.
> maybe you’re dealing with family drama that has you feeling both heavy & stressed.
my friend, it’s okay to fully feel the sadness of these things. you’re not a selfish person for having a vision of how you want things to go.
can i share with you 3 quick tips to make these things a little bit easier to handle?
1. stay flexible. — the truth is, your wedding won’t be *exactly* as you envisioned when you first got engaged. having a flexible attitude will keep you from getting completely derailed every time a problem or change pops up.
2. don’t compare. — i think half of the discontentment we feel comes from our constant exposure to social media. we see other people’s weddings which makes us question our own. comparison truly is the thief of joy. don’t let it steal yours.
3. hire a wedding planner. — a good wedding planner will share your burdens throughout the process of wedding planning. they’re not as emotionally invested as you are & feel no pressures/obligations to anybody except YOU so you can know they’ll have your back.

this is me & my sweet mom! 🧡 she helped me through every bit of planning my own wedding. & i’m more than convinced that she could be a wedding planner herself if she wanted to. she’s been one of my #1 supporters as i pursue this passion of mine!
side note — i’ve been struggling to post lately because my phone has been acting super weird and not letting me download photos from my photo gallery. i thought it was a storage issue so i freed up a TON of space but for some reason it’s still not working which means every time i want to post i have to go back to my wedding gallery and re-download the photo i want. does anybody know how to fix this?
