We have not said much about our drummer this year. He passed away over the winter and we miss him greatly!!

Hello everyone,

Thank you to all who have been playing with the Alesia Band. I think we have been sounding great!

We have a concert this Saturday from 6 to 8:00PM. The report time is 5:30. I know there is a number who will be away so if you are available, I certainly would appreciate your presence! We will be playing from the A side of the concert lists.

From Manchester, MD Rt 30 heading South towards Westminster. Go about 5 miles and turn left on Hampstead Mexico Road. Go about 1/2 mile and turn right on Leisters Church Road. Go about 1/10 mile to church.

These summer performances are held outdoors unless it rains and we're moved inside to the church or social hall.
You will need to bring:
Your own music stand (I have extras for those who need to borrow)
Clothespins or paper clips so your music does not blow away
Spectators should bring a lawn chair

Dress will be white short sleeve dress shirt, gray or black pants, black socks and black dress shoes. (or closest you can get!) If you have some sort of black neck tie, you may wear that also. If you have the Alesia uniform, wear that!

Guest Conductor will be Josh Vyskocil.

The band is progressing well, but we still need to work out some details. I want to start the summer schedule so that you have the dates in mind! I am putting the actual concert times. Probably arrive around 1/2 hour before hand.

We have band this coming Thursday. Please try to make it ( even if you never played with us !) and come to our rehearsal.

This will be the first time I have put together the order and many of them come from previous sessions.
Some you haven't seen before!

Just a quick reminder of the first rehearsal of Alesia Band. We will meet at Black Rock Church of the Brethren, at 7:30 to 9:00. on Thursday, March 14.

I have picked a mix of older music that I think you will like as well as some harder pieces that I believe you will find a bit more challenging. With over 3000 arrangements available there is a lot to choose from.

Our plans for our lunch/planning meeting are coming along!

Howdy,

Well, we have come to it. Our last playing job of the summer. This is it until next summer!

Our last playing job is in Hampstead, right behind the War Memorial. We are having parking provided right near we are playing.

Please come at 11:30 on Saturday,October 7 and we will start around noon. The festival is over at 2:00 and we will finish before that.

Wear white and black and bring a music stand.

The weather is questionable and so I ask you to watch your email. As soon as I hear anything different I will pass it on. If you hear nothing,it is on!

Howdy,

We have 1 more performance, Leisters church, this summer and 2 more this fall. Leisters is this SATURDAY and is 4 - 6 with the arrival at 3:30. You go to Manchester and turn right on Md 27. Go almost to Westminster and turn left on Hampstead Mexico Rd and the Church is on your right. My map calls it St John’s Lutheran Church. ( Saturday, August 19)

On October 1 and then October 7 we have 2 important gigs for the War Memorial at Hampstead. On Sunday, October 1 we play around 3 at a Church and on October 7 we play downtown at around 11:30. I will send more information on those after we get Leisters done

It has been a busy month of concerts and away trips of vacations. A small amount of you has even had to work.

Hopefully you seen the article about the trombone player that played a few songs at Utz Terrace. There has been over a hundred folks that have commented on that. A lot of folks that are familiar to music!

Alesia Band would like to remind you of our concerts.

On August the 12 we play at St. Abraham again for a ice cream social.
