Moongate Arch
Love how clean and modern this Moongate Arch is, and how it echoed the lighting fixtures in the space at @theallureonthelake. The color palette and softness from the fabric drape are top tier too! This was a fun one to design!

There are many components of floristry that appeal to us, but one of Jenn’s favorites is bringing a design concept to reality. Starting with a conversation with our couples, finding inspiration images to work from, landing on a desired design, then figuring out how to bring it to life. It’s a creative challenge she loves to work on! *When we talked with #bellescouple Kristen & Cullin they expressed the desire for a hanging floral feature that could frame them for the ceremony and remain in place for the reception as well. After reviewing the ideas we proposed they selected a Flower Cloud of assorted foliage and roses. Then it was game on! After we brainstormed a design and made a parts list we were off to the hardware store. We made a support structure, tested the concept, and later installed it on site. Next was just adding fresh product, and poof! Magic! Fun, beautiful, hands on problem solving at its best. Here’s a bit of how this piece came together, and apart again.
We were raised in the asylum called Campus Florist. It was a good, hard and crazy job! Working all night to get ready for Valentine's Day made us ready for any wedding craziness that might be thrown our way.
We’ve been busy out in the garage all week creating some new rental pieces. Did you know that we custom build all of the rental structures we offer? The Birch Arch and Birch Chuppah, Copper Arch and Copper Chuppah, Diamond Arch, Wood Arch and the White Pedestals were all designed and created in house. We have a metal Moongate Arch too, but we purchased that because we don’t know how to weld... yet!

Sometimes we offer things that we don’t have in our inventory just yet, or we get asked to create something new by our couples, and then we get the opportunity to really flex our design skills. We’re pretty good at figuring out how to create unique pieces whether it is table arrangement or a suspended cloud of foliage. And we always enjoy getting to build things, work with our hands, and do some creative problem solving!
*
The rental items we offer need to be stable enough to display a variety of different floral applications, withstand all types of weather, be easy to assemble and disassemble in many different terrains, and be
convenient to transport to events. After some research, design, and many trips to the hardware store we always end up with versatile structures we just love seeing get used year after year.

Check out a bunch of ways we’ve used these pieces so far! Have a favorite?
Ground arch, Floral hedge, Meadow arrangements, whatever you call them, they’re fabulous for a ceremony! We mapped out this one in the driveway, making sure our 7 lush arrangements would give us the shape and fullness we were going for in event day. And our prep paid off with a gorgeous design, right? More of this please! 📍: The Haight
Trios of Cylinder Vases with Floating Candles are insanely versatile. And we have tons of them available in our rental inventory for that very reason. Without even getting into designs with Pillar Candles and other applications, just look at how many ways our couples have used these simple design components to add fresh floral touches and warm glowing candlelight to their reception spaces. You can submerge flowers, foliage and branches, add bud vases or larger floral arrangements, add loose foliage, blooms or rose petals around them. You can even add them inside of a larger container too! Which look is your favorite??
Today we were working on loading up some fun things. But for once it’s not our tool bags, it’s suitcases we’re packing. And we aren’t just hitting the road, we’re hitting the skies for a special trip!
You know we love a good bestie’s adventure, and our B&T work takes us all over the place, but this time we’re finally going on a legit :vacation: together! And the best part is it’s all thanks to our AMAAAAZING clients. Likely You, reading this right now!
For the last thirteen years we have saved all of the tips that our ridiculously lovely couples have generously given us, set them aside and planned to take a cool trip with them one day. Our daydreams of this vaycay have morphed through several different places, but we recently decided it was time to make something happen and we booked ourselves a tropical getaway! We are beyond excited to get some sun, sand and a good mix of adventures with total relaxation!!
So THANK YOU thank you thank you, so much, to all of our Belles & Thistles clients. For trusting us with your special events, for referrals and reviews, and for your extremely thoughtful generosity. We couldn’t take this time to live our best life without you. You fill our hearts with love and we appreciate you more than you’ll ever know. #BellesCouplesAreBest

Shoutout to all the small business owners who are getting ready to file taxes for the year. It’s not you, it’s the actual worst, so hang in there! We try to set little systems in place like keeping track of mileage, tolls and expenses right after each event. Even made these easy little forms to fill out real quick. But we’re usually in a rush to close one project and excited to get to work on the next, so by May last year Jenn gave up filling out her paperwork and just had to spend hours calculating all the things. Coolcoolcool. Here’s hoping your filings go smoother than ours! #smallbusinesslife
