Wow, 10 years! Grateful. 1/1/14 I registered Jenna Lynn Photography LLC with a hopeful heart and a lot of determination within my soul! Some things never change. Ten years later, I feel the same hope and determination to continue to create and bring happiness to others through my abilities.
10yrs ago, I was 25 and working as an Interior Designer. I had earned my bachelor's degree, got married, bought our first home, and was following the "plan". Life thew a few curve balls my way and I began to adapt and shift priorities. I wasn't happy with being boxed into an 8-5:30 schedule (plus over an hour commuting each way) and took action to change it. Part of that action plan was to work for myself, which I eventually did full time in 2016, and I haven't looked back since. This took a lot of sleepless nights and manifestations!
Running your own small business isn't always fun. It's also intimidating and can be extremely lonely. To be real with you, I had absolutely no idea of what I was getting myself into on the business end! It is definitely not easy, and even 10 years into it, I know I have so much more to learn and improve upon. I am still here, though. I am still working, goal setting & creating. Working for myself has opened more doors & presented more opportunities than I ever imagined. I've met amazing people and traveled domestically and internationally for work. I can schedule my work days and get to balance being a mom and my own person as well. That last part is really tough with young ones, but that okay for now lol!
In a society swamped with entrepreneurs, I am grateful to still be here in my own little corner of that world. Statically, 45% of small businesses close by their 5th year. I am proud of myself and grateful for the support of my husband, family, friends and industry partners/friends and my amazing clients ❤️. Success is defined differently for everyone. That is one valuable piece of advice I was given years ago, and I stand behind it today.
I have so much more to achieve to feel fully successful. For now, we are celebrating this major milestone! Looking forward to the next 10 years and to see how JLP develops even further.
