Our Story
The EDDIE is an annual music festival held in honor of the late, great Edward Lakata. Eddie was a local musician and a fixture in the upstate NY music scene for more than 30 years. He was truly an inspiration to all who knew him. All proceeds from The EDDIE Music Festival benefit the Edward Lakata Memorial Scholarship Fund. This scholarship is awarded to Johnstown High School seniors pursuing careers in math, science and the performing arts - all of which were Eddie's passions. The EDDIE features approximately 20 bands across 2 stages, with professional sound and lighting provided. For only $5, everyone in the area can see and hear the absolute best in regional and national talent - all in one place. Combined with the amazing food and drinks available throughout the day, it is truly "the Best Concert Experience in Upstate New York!" The EDDIE strives to bring you an eclectic, exciting and ever-changing lineup of the area's best musicians every year. We're also proud to feature young, up-and-coming talent, which was always important to Eddie. Eddie loved putting on a show, and we’re carrying on that tradition. We know you'll want to make The EDDIE Music Festival a part of your family's tradition for years to come. See you there!
