I want to take a minute to thank each and every person in my community. Those who shared and liked my posts, sent texts of encouragement, and those who purchased flowers for mothers day from me.

I have spent today reeling with new ideas for the future of our shop. My husband, Mother and I are so appreciative of the love and support that has been poured out for me these last few days.

We are struggling with infertility like many couples today so trust me when I say that Mothers Day is a really hard day for us and so many other families that are waiting for their children. I have been blessed with three Titus 2 women who are dedicated to teaching me how to properly love my husband and my future children while also having so much empathetic understanding of the battle with infertility.

First, my Mother, who struggled for ten long years to have me. She and Seth are my biggest supporters. Her wisdom and elegance surpass anything I have ever seen. I know everyone says that they have the best mom ever but I really do believe it. Despite me being her only child, she has mothered hundreds of people. All of whom could talk for hours about her kind and gentle spirit.

The other two friends have been a part of my life for years. They have helped shape my thought process and facilitated a culture of growth through this hardship. I am so grateful to Jen Mayfield and Stacy Freeman. Their friendship is a gift.

I am truly so happy for all of the mothers with beautiful babies both young and old. I celebrate my Mother and wonderful Mother in Law Susan Culp and all of their many accomplishments. One day I will celebrate with you all as a fellow mother but for now I will make the most beautiful flower arrangements to honor you. I hope you all enjoy your flowers. May they remind you of the families you serve and the vibrant love you have with them.

Its a beautiful spring day full of sweet tea and young love. Wedding consultations might be my favorite part of owing a flower shop! The anticipation of a new couple being brought together by God is so breathtaking. I don't think it will ever get old.

I am so proud and honored to be apart of such a wonderful community and culture. I am surrounded by other talented artist who use their gifts to glorify God. The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.

I am reminded of this verse each time someone mentions the short lived beauty of a flower. You place them on your table and in a week or so they may have a touch of age to their leaves. By two weeks they have begun to wilt. If you haven't had to pick through them to take out any bad stems by the third week you are telling everyone how lucky you are that they have lasted so long.

What a reminder of the shortness of our time on this earth. At a much younger age than we thought, we begin to feel the effects of passing time. We start to cover over the scars we have earned over a life of living and serving. And if we get to celebrate an 80th or 90th birthday, we praise God for the decades of mercies and grace he has poured out over us.

I thank God for the short life of a flower. It reminds me that though we too will grow old and fade and be forgotten, the best use of our time is to saturate ourselves in the unchanging and unfading Gospel of Jesus Christ. To wash in the beauty he allows us to see in our short time here and to share that with others is our new found purpose as Christians.
