I shared this the other night in my stories and it really resonated. We have spent a lot of our marriage prioritizing our date nights but there are definitely seasons where there aren’t enough days in the week or dollars in the budget. So- we make the best of the time we get. Or we make the time - we both didn’t need to go to practice this evening but we did and it was so nice to have him there and we could catch up 💙 Let go of what you think a “date night” looks like and soak up the mundane and take advantage of these moments with your person. They all add up 🥰

but I’m still very, very excited to start planning our flower season 🤫🌱🌸☃️

Pencil and paper and a dream is how we started and it’s so special to me every year - we change things, we grow, we challenge ourselves, and we dream big. I’ll take you along for everything we have planned!! So so excited - like, can’t sleep excited! And it’s been a minute (or two) since I’ve felt this way. It’s such a gift to love this life and this farm like we do!! Grateful doesn’t seem like a big enough word. 🤍

A core memory unlocked - watching the Lions become #1 through the eyes of my son and my dad last night 💙🦁 The energy in the stadium and city last night was truly unmatched and so beautiful to witness!!!

One of my favorite moments that we talked about on the way home was in the 4th quarter, it was 3rd and 9 for the Vikings and they brought up on the big screen and the stadium went absolutely CRAZY and ended up sacking their QB!!!

launched our own online cut flower course, became a proud Friend of Carhartt, planted 500 peony plants, increased our tulip crop by 19,000%, hosted pumpkin bouquet bars, wreath workshops, photography sessions, Santa on the farm, summer concerts, a WEDDING, designed for weddings, traveled with bouquet bars to celebrate baby and bridal showers & bachelorette parties, built more raised beds, continue to have weekly Friday Night Dance Parties, and even though we are heading into our fifth year- we are just getting started!! We truly started with land covered in snow and a wild, huge dream with the intention of getting our hands dirty, spending more time together as a family, and spreading love through flowers. You may come for the flowers but we hope you stay for the memories. 🌸 Happy New Year!!!

He asked me tonight how we met and after explaining through years that it was such a miracle last year and how it was such an answered gift to us because of his generosity - he replied, “God is so good.” It was so meant to be having him enter our lives and be able to meet so many families here at the farm, week after week. We chat every moment we can, I sneak in the greenhouse to steal some of his heat and our relationship deepens. I cry when he sings to the kids, when my kids run to him every chance they get and ask him so many questions to which he literally has the best stories for, and when he giggles - he sounds exactly like my grandma Grace whom I miss dearly and it’s no coincidence that after he left tonight, Dolly came up to me with tears in her eyes and started crying saying that she misses Nana (my grandma) who has been watching over us now for 5 years. He reminds all of us of her and they don’t even know it. ❤️ He took a chance on us and has made our lives so much better and inspires me to spread joy, love and magic. We still have two more weeks of Santa here at the farm and I promise to keep it together!!! He knows how much I adore him and I’m sharing this because if you ever encounter someone who is genuinely the definition of love - tell them and keep them close. 🤍

It’s a bittersweet goodbye when we clear our flower beds- so many feelings this time of year!! Grateful for another beautiful season, tired and ready to be done, overwhelmed with the fall to-do list, excited about fall bulbs, appreciative of the change of seasons and gorgeous fall weather, and hopeful for some rest to reset and plan to do it all over again. I actually LOVE this time of year and the timing is perfect for our family. Bring on slower mornings, folding laundry by our cozy fireside, more movie nights, home-cooked comfort meals, and boots + beanies. 🧡

My favorite tradition with my dad. Tulip Planting 🌷 Fall is the most labor intensive time on the farm and I truly couldn't do it all without his selfless love and huge muscles. His stories make the time pass and the kids love getting extra rides on the tractor or 4-wheeler with Papa. When he shows up, I drop everything and get to work alongside him. This farm is so much more than beautiful flowers...it is providing a life that I have always wanted and giving me more time with my family. I never know what each season will bring, but I do know that I will be doing this with him every year, for as long as we can.

Dolly is SIX!! I remember going out to dinner with Mitch for my birthday and I was 6 months pregnant with this baby girl. The only thing on my mind that evening was talking about a name for her. I sat across from him giving him all the reasons why we should name her Gwendolyn but call her Dolly. (Dolly was my nickname from my grandma whom I was extremely close with). He listened to me and then smiled and nodded his head while I continued to plead my case. He patiently waited until I was done, and said, “Are we going to call her Dolly?” Well….. yes. “Then, we will name her Dolly.” 🤍

I started to worry for her and didn’t want to put her in a box because of a name. I called my sister and eventually, out of nowhere, I asked her, “but what if she wants to play soccer?!?!” And she laughed and said, “then she plays soccer.” (She still makes fun of me for this one.) and yes, Dolly plays soccer.

Her name isn’t just a name. She reminds me of my grandma. She is our Dolly, our doll baby, our little Dolly May and she is spicy and tough and funny and loves everything that her brother does and copies everything that her older sisters do. But she runs this house and we are all scared of her 😂 She loves big and prays long. She doesn’t step down from a challenge and loves frogs, worms, her four-wheeler, her bike, nail polish & especially her bunny.

The bunny she has to sleep with every night. The one that sits with her during school and goes outside to the farm and to Gigi and Papa’s house. The bunny that my grandma bought for her shortly before she passed that we later found in her bedroom. “Are you my Dolly?” 🥹😭🤍
