She works primarily with fine silks and lace she buys during her travels to New York, France, Italy and Brazil. Maria designs and creates gorgeous wedding gowns, mother’s attire, dresses, skirts, jackets, blouses, shawls, lace capes, and scarves. She has also created her own line of jewelry and bridal hair pieces, but her signature is her hand made silk flowers. No matter what your need Maria Antonieta Couture is the place to go for personal attention and couture quality designs.

I can't say enough about Maria!
I was looking for a mother of the bride dress and was frustrated because I could not find anything I liked - on line or in stores! I made an appointment with Maria and described to her what I had in mind. As soon as I walked into her shop I knew I was in the right place! She listened, drew a sketch, took detailed measurements, made a pattern and over the course of a few months created the MOST beautiful dress, using exquisite fabric and impeccable design!
(She used Earl Grey tea to dye the lace for the hem so that the color would match perfectly)
I met with Maria several times over those few months and it proved to be one of the highlights of the entire wedding experience. She is talented and fun and so happy about what she does! I brought my daughter to one of the fittings so that she could meet this amazing woman!

Maria put her heart into my dress and not only is it exactly what I had envisioned, it is a work of art.

I make dresses. I love the process, from the initial design to the final stitch. The hours involved in the creation of a couture garment are quite impressive and it fits very well for the weather of Maine. I buy fabrics wherever I go—New York, Paris, in Italy or Brazil. I love creating patterns. Sewing is a challenge and a constant learning process. One may know the techniques, but must be inventive to face
the different needs that will be presented in the making of a garment.

So here I am—and there you are.

We have moved! We are now located in Gorham, Maine. Our home studio is small and cozy. There you can see our sewing machines, our production and even find a roll of fabric that you might want to have a scarf made from!! Call us to book an appointment.
