COMING SOON TO A THEATER NEAR YOU - Prepare to be captivated by Béla Bartók’s opera, Duke Bluebeard's Castle. Featuring the talents of pianist Eun Joo Jeon, baritone Brandon Mecklenburg, soprano Kimberly Merrill, and directed by Joelle Lachance, this production will take place FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2024 at 7pm, and SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 9 at 2pm, and promises to be an unforgettable experience for opera enthusiasts and newcomers alike. The show will also feature three talented, local student interns - both on stage and in front of house - so stay tuned!

In this masterful one-act opera, Bartók transports the audience into the chilling world of Duke Bluebeard and his new wife, Judith. As Judith explores Bluebeard’s grand but haunting home, she uncovers a series of mysterious rooms - each revealing a new secret about her enigmatic husband. With its exploration of trust, secrecy, and the human psychDuke Bluebeard's Castle - Gowanda's Historic Hollywood Theaterally thrilling operas performed today.
