We finished up the Mud Bog last night with an audience participation mud run! Pictured are the winners of the couple’s mud run, and the Kids’ Dash for Cash. Thanks to all who signed up for the audience participation games!

MUD BOG tonight!! Bring your truck out and give it a try! Registration is happening now and they run at 6:00. If you don’t have a machine to run, come out and watch, and volunteer for the audience participation challenges on the track this year! You may win a ribbon, free funnel cake or some cash! Looks like it is going to be a beautiful day here at the fairgrounds! We are open noon-11:00 pm! Come out for mud bogs, rides, Zona Hester and Soda Pop Gypsies bands, visiting livestock animals and their kiddos, and fantastic fair food!! This is your last chance for this year! Go to your local fair walk past the rides and the games and find those livestock kids. Have a conversation with them, ask them about their animals. You just may learn something and have your faith in our future restored.

We fill the bleachers on Friday nights for football. We fill the bleachers on cold winter nights for basketball. We travel miles and miles, to sit in the bleachers for volleyball, baseball, softball, gymnastics, and dance.

Our 4-H and FFA families would like to invite you to fill the bleachers on a warm summer day during county fair week and watch the kids who practice with a 1200 pound steer that doesn’t always want to walk, a 140 pound lamb that doesn’t want to get on the stand for the 100th time, a 280 pound hog that just wants to stay in the cool barn or a stubborn goat that doesn’t like the chain/halter.

Come check out Exhibit Hall for all the non-livestock exhibitors. Those kids have heart and dedication and put hours into their creations.

Let’s fill the bleachers, barns, and buildings to show these kids that their hard work doesn’t go unnoticed and because of them, the future of the agriculture and leadership is in good hands.

ATV/UTV/Dirt-bike Obstacle Course Info:
Participants must be at least 8 years old. Any participant under 18 must have a legal guardian present to sign a permission form and a waiver for them. $10 for two runs. You may run as many times as you’re willing to pay. (Please remember you must still pay your $10 entry fee to get into the fair, as well.) Ribbons will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each class. 1st place will also receive a cash prize of 30% of the entry fee funds FOR THEIR CLASS. Registration begins at 5:00 and the event starts at 7:00. Talk your friends into coming and challenging you, so you can build up the winner’s pot! 💰 Please message the page with any questions and we can direct you to the right person for answers. 🥇🏆

PAGEANT OPPORTUNITY:
The Taylor County Fair is looking for outstanding young ladies to vie for 3 titles of Calico Queen for the 2023 season. Calico Queen for ages 16-21, Junior Calico Queen for ages 10-15 and Mini Calico Queen for ages 3-8. The Calico Queen and Junior Calico Queen will be determined through a pageant held on July 22, 2023 and Mini Calico Queen will be decided on penny a vote. The 2023 Taylor County Fair will be held July 26, 27, 28, and 29, with rides by Myers Amusements. A full schedule will be released following next week’s fair board meeting! Stay tuned!

The Taylor County Fair is proud to share with you this photo and story of third generation Junior Livestock Exhibitors! Junior Livestock and 4H is the reason this fair exists, and we are so pleased to see multiple generations participating. Hopefully we will see the children and grandchildren of these kids in the barn someday. ❤️ 🐄 🐑 🐖
