Happy Friday! ✨

I often love getting to reflect back on some of the weddings I have assisted on in the past. Madi and Alex were my May 27th couple. Everything about their day was so special.

First of all, Madi's dress was stunning. 😍

Secondly, if I could choose one thing I loved most about their day, it would be Madi's attention to soaking in the sweet moments with Alex. Not only did they share private vows before the ceremony, but they also took time post ceremony just the two of them. They were able to enjoy their dinner privately and soak in their feelings directly following saying "I do". Not only was this such a special time for them, but it also allowed them to be attentive and enjoy more time with their guests once the reception began.

Take a page from their playbook. Take the time to enjoy soak in those special moments throughout your wedding day.

Let's talk vows.

There are SO many ways to do your vows nowadays. Traditional from the book, personally written vows in front of everyone, or even private vows before the ceremony.

What's my favorite?? Personally, I have been loving the feeling of the private vows before the ceremony. Having that time between you and your significant other can be something so special to share with each other. Whether it is after your first look, in a special location or even if you don't want to see each other before the ceremony and just want to stand back to back, holding hands.

Your vows can be such a unique part of your wedding day. What is your favorite???

Went to my very first KC plans event last night. A night were all the local wedding and event planners get to come together and celebrate each other. Lots of fun was had. We laughed, and learned so much from the wonderful speakers!

I haven’t been posting on here much due to preparing for baby girl coming very soon! I’ve been so blessed with the couples who have allowed me to work alongside them so far this year and am looking forward to finishing out the year strong with my remaining 2023 weddings. 🤍

With maternity leave quickly approaching, please remember

So happy to FINALLY announce. My 2023 Calendar has officially closed, for a very special reason 🤍

I've been quietly letting new inquiries know for a while, but feel it's time to make it official. We have a sweet baby due early September. I will still be working with my current active clients but will not be taking on any additional 2023 weddings. The timing couldn't have been more perfect because I am very busy both before and after my due date but conveniently had a slow gap in September and the beginning of October giving us time with our sweet new addition. 🥰

I have been so blessed with the amount of support I've received from current and past clients. Your referrals mean the world to me! Although my 2023 calendar is closed, please still keep me in mind for 2024! 🤩🤍

Don't forget when creating your seating arrangements, to consider the flow of the room for your guests. Transitioning from ceremony, to cocktail hour, to the reception should flow well with your guests able to change spaces with ease.

A question I often get asked... "How much should I tip my vendors?"

The truth is, it is totally up to you, how well you think the vendor did, and what financially you can afford.

Table Numbers have more than one use.

Some couples don't like the idea of assigned seating for their guests, and that is OK.

Even if you want your guests to sit wherever they want, think about still having the tables numbered for the sake of dismissing for the food line.

Instead of everyone jumping in line and crowding the food all at once, dismissing tables one or two at a time makes the food line shorter and guests not having to wait as long.

Incorporate personalized details throughout your wedding to make your guests feel closer to you and to really elevate their experience.

Here's a few small touches to consider that may fit your wedding day

- Personalized bar menu/ drinks
- Games or activities you enjoy doing together
- Snacks you enjoy eating together
- Personalized cups, napkins, coozies, etc.

Let's talk about save the dates and invitations...

When do you send them?

Save the dates are recommended to be sent roughly 6-7 months before your wedding day. Setting expectations for guests to mark the date on their calendars.

Invitations should be sent 3-4 months before wedding day. This allows guests to go back to their calendar with all the details. Day, time, and location.

One of the most important tips I can give you is to take your time when planning. Yes, there are things that should be prioritized and marked off the to do list first, but there is no reason to get everything on the list done in one week. Create a schedule, make a to do list, and make sure your tasks are spread out accordingly.

When you're trying to work on your budget and deciding what you should be spending your money on, here is one way to choose.

Stick to spending your money on the things that will photographed the most. If you you want photos of a full dacne floor and your guests having fun, do your research and find a great interactive DJ. If you're more into the detail photos, spend your money on decor and flowers. Whatever it may be, just remember that here in 20 years, those photos will be what you have to remember your wedding day. So focus on the things you want to remember the most!

Things change. When you first see your venue, you are often on a high of picturing yourself on your wedding day. Often times, you go to your venue walk through and your vision might change. Whether it be ceremony location, reception layout, or even the logistics of all the moving parts, you may start envisioning your day differently.

It is also so important to come to your walk through with questions ready to be answered. If you have a coordinator or planner, invite them to come! They may have insite that you haven't thought of yet that could change everything. Plus, it is good for them to see the space beforehand to better assist you!
