This past week has been one of the hardest I’ve ever had in my business. Running a small business while being sick is no joke—there’s no calling in, no backup plan, no one else who carries the full weight of responsibility. You just have to push through.

I want to take a moment to apologize if I’ve been slow to respond to messages or if there have been any delays. I truly appreciate your patience as I navigate this challenging time.

On top of being sick, I’m also learning how to be a boss in a new way. My daughter—who used to anticipate my every move and pick up any slack—is now on her mission, and I have a couple of new employees who are stepping up and learning the ropes. They are doing great, but I’m also realizing how different it is to manage employees outside of my own family. It’s a learning curve for all of us!

Small business ownership isn’t just about passion—it’s about resilience, adaptability, and growth. Even when it’s hard, I’m grateful for the opportunity to do what I love and for the people who support me.

Students who received scholarships and grants are invited to come and write thank you notes during lunch. They feed the students while they express their gratitude for what they have been given. I think it is so awesome that they do this
