Another feature of the building we'll be repurposing is some of the stained glass. You'll find it in unique spots when the venue is finished!
That includes the ELEVEN O'CLOCK LOUNGE! This lounge will be on the first floor and the name is a nod to the building's history as the Elks do an Eleven O'clock Toast. We plan to use the glass with the clock on it for a bar backdrop. Notice it's also set to 11:00š
The old stage in The Ballroom is gone š„² Donāt worry, weāll be putting in a platform for your head table, a band, DJ or your emcee!
We are also hoping to repurpose this old wood from the stage and use it to build our bars!
And how cool is this!? Our crew found this āOur Absent Brothersā sign during the stage demo. It is significant to the Elks and is the same saying that was above one of the doorways in the building.

We would like to introduce our Events Manager, Jessica Kenyon! She will be ready to help you coordinate your events here at The Venue at Railside! She is also the owner of Hope Collective. Through our collaboration with Hope Collective, you are not only offered a beautiful venue, but youāll have direct access to Jessicaās additional services like full service wedding planning and event rentals!
We are getting close to launching our website which will include 3D renderings of what some of our spaces will look like. Stay tuned!
We spoke at the Grand Island City Council meeting last night. Itās been a busy few months of meetings! We want to thank the City of Grand Island, Community Redevelopment Authority and Planning Commission for their commitment and support of this project!

Meet Molly! She is the owner of Couch Interiors and is helping with interior design for the venue! We spent the afternoon in the design center at Builders picking out product. Canāt wait to share more!

Met with the Community Redevelopment Authority this morning to go over our facade grant application. Just one step closer to bringing this beautiful building back to life!

Next item: Waiting on some permits from the City of Grand Island to start some construction! Stay tuned!
We have been working with Staci With An I For Design for a few weeks now to create our official logo! The arched hallway is one of our favorite features of the building and we really wanted to incorporate it into the logo!

This building is a diamond in the rough, but it has so much potential! We have some awesome things planned for it. Don't worry, there will be no holes in the floor when it's finished š
A lot of the process so far has been going over preliminary drawings from our architect. This includes all of the interior and exterior work we want done. Now time to start the FINAL architectural drawings!
We're glad to have Spotanski Creative Building Design & Drafting along for the ride!

The picture shows exterior plans drawn by the architect and the last section of the article talks about what was in store for the inside! Check it out!
We met with members of Grand Island Elks Lodge #604 this week and took them on a tour of the building! Don't forget the building was first built for the Elks which explains the elk on the stained glass windows š It was great to learn more about it's history and the significance of some of the historical pieces inside.

We met with our contractor today to go over numbers. Thanks Sorensen Construction for joining us on this journey! We expect demo to start within the next few weeks!
