“Love grows mighty when it gives itself away.” A few months back, I had the great pleasure of writing string arrangements for three of my favorite local songwriters (Spencer LaJoye, Nathan Walton and Ralston Bowles) to be performed live onstage in a concert with an amazing string quartet. It was a whole ‘production’ as they say, and for the 250 or so lucky people in attendance, it was an undeniably emotional and powerful gathering on the week of a difficult election.

Nathan Walton facilitated having this concert recorded and he and I picked out three performances/arrangements that we felt encapsulated the pure energy of the evening - for you to relive or experience for the first time. So here they are in their raw, unfiltered and magical form; the human magic that only live music (with strings!) can bring. We hope you enjoy listening Friends.

A sizzling 🔥 & moving wrap to our fourth season. Wow! Music in the Heights has hosted 15 concerts (mostly double bills) and welcomed around 3,600 guests throughout the Fall/Winter months. So grateful and we will be back next year 💥 Thank you Marcus Elliot and Broken Seeds Vol. II, Kathy Lamar and Jim Alfredson for bringing your incredible musicianship and presence to our series. The videos just don’t do it justice ❤️ Such a great vibe and closing to the season. Thank you so much Alger Park Church for your generosity in hosting these concerts.
